Salt Spring Technical has released version 0.1 of MibMinder, an SNMPv1 manager application. This is the first release (beta).
MibMinder is a network administrator's tool that communicates with network nodes via Simple Network Management Protocol version 1 (SNMPv1). It is a simple yet powerful SNMP manager application, the first tool of its kind to support a native NeXTSTEP Graphical User Interface (GUI).
MibMinder offers a simple point and click interface that can both query and set Management Information Base (MIB) variables. It gives the network administrator the ability to traverse the Structure of Management Information (SMI) tree, examining any Object IDentifier (OID) in complete detail using a node inspector tool.
MibMinder communicates with one network agent at a time. The selection of that agent may be done by designating the IP address or network name of the node (DNS/NIS). Of course, the administrator must know an agent's password ("community") to successfully communicate with that agent.
MibMinder can examine SNMP tables by row or column. It can also add enterprise specific MIB files into the SMI tree, so that all variables in an agent's MIB can be accessed, regardless of the device's make or model.
