  1. This is version 3.0 of Nutation, a music notation program for
  2. the NeXT machine.

  4. Resource requirements

  6.    A Next machine
  7.    NextStep release 3.0 or higher
  8.    At least 3.8 megabytes of disk space
  9.    Adobe Sonata font installed
  10.    MusicKit 3.0 or higher installed
  11.  
  12. To install Nutation:

  14. Installing Nutation takes 5-10 minutes.  
  15.  
  16. Obtain the file Nu.pkg.tar.  This file can be retrieved
  17. via anonymous ftp from the /pub directory of ccrma-ftp.stanford.edu.
  18. Be sure to specify binary transfer mode.

  20. Unpack the contents of this file (it is a tar archive)
  21. using any convenient facility. My preference is to execute
  22.  
  23.  tar xf Nu.pkg.tar
  24.  
  25. in a Terminal window.

  27.     This will create a NeXT-style called Nu.pkg, together with installation instructions in Nu.Install.Readme.rtfd. Open Nu.Install.Readme.rtfd by clicking on its icon...it contains detailed instructions on installing and running Nutation.
