  2. perl5.001l.bs.NIH.tar.gz contains a complete build of perl5.001
  3. patchlevel 'l' for m68k, i386, and hppa architectures.  It includes
  4. the following features:
  5.  
  6. - MAB binaries and library
  7. - seperate, architecure specific library trees
  8.   (lib/perl/{m68k,hppa,i386}-next).
  9. - source with *complete* hints files for each architecture (including
  10.   sparc-- i haven't had a chance to build 5.001e on sparc)
  11. - MAB library and MAB config.h appear in lib/perl5/MAB-next.  config.h
  12.   automatically #imports the correct config.h for whatever architecture
  13.   is being built.
  14. - /usr/local/lib/site/perl5 is automatically included in @INC
  15. - all architectures were built native to that architecure.  Perl is
  16.   notoriously difficult to build MAB from a single architecture.

  18. All architectures pass all tests.  All architectures have been tested
  19. against some extended tests (mainly, a custom select test that can
  20. break a cross-compiled version of perl).
  21.  
  22. I'll build sparc when I get the chance;  but that may take a while.
  23. If someone wants to build sparc and send me the resulting tree of
  24. resources, I'll integrate it into this package and make a new release.
