  1. Purpose and value:
  2.   This is n2m, a program that translates a file containing a
  3. NeXT-format multimedia message into a file containing a MIME-format
  4. multimedia message.
  5.  
  6.   It uses no external configuration information, and so can be 
  7. installed by copying the (right!) binary to a given machine.
  8. All configuration is done via parameters to make and/or in the 
  9. Makefile.
  10.  
  11.   More information is available in the program logic manual, 
  12. n2m_plm.tex.

  14. Type of systems supported:
  15.   Berkeley-derived, or ones otherwise using /user/lib/sendmail as a
  16. mail transfer agent.
  17.   In use on SunOS 4.1.1 and Ultrix 4.2, tested briefly on Aix 3.2 and
  18. NeXT.

  20. Dependencies:
  21.   External: nil.

  23. Known limitations:
  24.   This program requires the message to have been saved to a
  25. file first, which may make it hard to use with a mail user agent
  26. that doesn't like to read messages back in again once they've
  27. been saved to files.
  28.   I often use unextended MH, so I just say ``show | n2m | less''.
