- Purpose and value:
- This is n2m, a program that translates a file containing a
- NeXT-format multimedia message into a file containing a MIME-format
- multimedia message.
-
- It uses no external configuration information, and so can be
- installed by copying the (right!) binary to a given machine.
- All configuration is done via parameters to make and/or in the
- Makefile.
-
- More information is available in the program logic manual,
- n2m_plm.tex.
-
- Type of systems supported:
- Berkeley-derived, or ones otherwise using /user/lib/sendmail as a
- mail transfer agent.
- In use on SunOS 4.1.1 and Ultrix 4.2, tested briefly on Aix 3.2 and
- NeXT.
-
- Dependencies:
- External: nil.
-
- Known limitations:
- This program requires the message to have been saved to a
- file first, which may make it hard to use with a mail user agent
- that doesn't like to read messages back in again once they've
- been saved to files.
- I often use unextended MH, so I just say ``show | n2m | less''.
