- nvi 1.71 alpha for the NIHS platforms is available as
-
- ftp://ftp.inslab.uky.edu/pub/editors/nvi-1.71/nvi-1.71.NIHS.tar.gz
-
- This is nvi, a replacement for the vi editor. It comes with the
- bsd4.4-lite derived systems (such as bsd/os, freebsd, netbsd, etc),
- however, it compiles on just about everything thanks to GNU's
- autoconf system.
-
- The advantages of nvi over the old vi which comes with NEXTSTEP
- are that it offers many more features over the old vi. nvi is also
- available for many operating systems so it is easier dealing with
- a consistent version of vi which acts the same no matter where you
- are. Man pages and reference manuals are included.
-
- The untouched sources are available as
-
- ftp://ftp.inslab.uky.edu/pub/editors/nvi-1.71/nvi-1.71.tar.gz
-
- nvi is maintained by Keith Bostic <bostic@cs.berkeley.edu>. New
- versions are released in
-
- ftp://ftp.cs.berkeley.edu/ucb/4bsd/
