  1. LPC - a NeXT adaptation, with graphic  user  interface,  of  Paul
  2. Lansky's software for linear predictive analysis and pitch track-
  3. ing  performs  linear  predictive  and  pitch  tracking  analyses
  4. respectively  on  a  monaural  shortsam  or  float soundfile. The
  5. soundfile analyzed must  have  a  valid  NeXT  soundfile  header.
  6. NeXT-CSound uses a modified IRCAM-type header whose first element
  7. is a NeXT header. The two resulting data files may then be merged
  8. in  a  manner suitable for use in a instrument via the and units.
  9. The analysis data may be displayed in a  scrolling  text  window.
  10. Parameters  and  interface  gadgets  are described in more detail
  11. below.  - Number of poles for analysis.   Default  is  34  poles,
  12. which is also the maximum allowed.
