  4. Audio-Tone.demo.app, Pure Tone Generator module was written for
  5. real-time synthesis of the sinusoidal (pure tone) signal.  Signals are
  6. generated in real time and do not require the DSP processor (which is
  7. not available in some NeXTSTEP computers).Therefore this software will
  8. run on all NeXTSTEP computers equipped with D/A converters.  Signal is
  9. generated in RAM and for this reason no hard disk space is required
  10. for operation of the Audio-Tone.demo.app program.  This program works
  11. very nicely with Digital  Oscilloscope  and Spectrum Analyzer (both
  12. applications come with NeXT) and any recording / editing software.
  13. Playback and recording/ analysis of the signal could be done
  14. simultaneously since DSP chip is not used and main processor is used
  15. only 2->3% during signal production.
