  3. Purpose:
  4.     A cellular automaton, described in Scientific American May 1985, involving
  5. the deterioration and curing of the health of a two-dimensional array of cells.

  7. Hardware:
  8.     Compiled and tested on a '040 ColorStation. The algorithm performs best on
  9. 16-bit per pixel frame buffers, when the display window is small. The display 
  10. rate there of 25
  11.  
  12.  
  13.    The fun part of this simulation is to explore the variable space, and see
  14. how many different modes you can discover -- I know of 4 or 5 distinct ones. 
  15. Sometimes, the same settings can support multiple stable modes. Pick up a copy
