As you can guess from the name, it is a bunch of Russian NeXT fonts.
You can place them in your "~/Library/Fonts", "NextLibrary/Fonts" or "LocalLibrary/Fonts" directory and run 'buildafmdir ~/Library/Fonts', 'buildafmdir ~/Library/Fonts' or 'buildafmdir LocalLibrary/Fonts', correspondingly. Then they will be available for your system.
Fonts in this directory are produced from public domain PostScript font set cyr_ps.zip and Terminal KOI8 by Daniel A. Chirkov.
To convert *.pfb files from cyr.ps into Post Script Type 1 NeXT format the 'pfb2ps' utility from "pcATMfont2Next" package was used followed by 'afmmaker' to produce *.afm file. These fonts do not have Latin characters and their encoding put Cyrillic letters in place of Latin ones to map standard "QWERTY" keyboard layout onto Russian "JCUKENG" one.
To convert KOI8-Terminal font I took Mac type 1 KOI8-Terminal font and got *.afm file using 'mcvert'. Then I have produced outline font file through
'mfrc' program from Mac printer-downloadable font (Macintosh file type 'LWFN').
This font has both Latin and Cyrillic characters in KOI-8 encoding and can, thus, be used to read relcom.* newsgroups and to send/receive e-mail in Russian. I do not have convenient NeXT keyboard layout, unfortunately.
