- This package allows you to use the 500 high quality postscript fonts
- from the Bitstream 500 Font CD for Windows with TeX and dvips.
- After installing the package, copy the file btfonts.map to /usr/lib/tex/ps/
- and add a line to your config.ps file in that directory consisting of the
- following:
-
- p+ btfonts.map
-
- somewhere near the beginning of the file. Make sure to create
- a backup copy of config.ps first! You must add the directories
- where you put the tfm files to your TEXFONTS environment
- variable and the directories where you put the vf files to your
- VFFONTS environment variable in your .cshrc file (as well
- as to the rc file for your shell if you use a shell other than
- csh.)
-
- If you only want to use these fonts for yourself without installing
- them for systemwide use, create a file in your
- home directory called .dvipsrc which consists of the
- line you would have added to /usr/lib/tex/ps/config.ps.
- See the dvips man page and the NeXTTeX
- manual for more information on how to do this.
-
- I have included samples for the .cshrc and .dvipsrc
- files.
-
- The most difficult step is to convert the fonts from the Windows form
- on the CD to NEXTSTEP form. A wonderful script has already been
- made to accomplish just this. This script, Installfonts, written
- by Otto J. Makela, is included.
