  6. This message is a summary of the next-managers charter and rules.
  7. Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in severe
  8. chastisement by the list maintainer and other list participants
  9. or your being removed from the next-managers mailing list.

  12. 1:  This list is NOT moderated!  Every message that is sent to the list
  13.         next-managers@stolaf.edu
  14.     will be passed on to every member of the list
  15.  
  16. 2:  Requests to have addresses added or removed from the list should NOT
  17.     be sent to the entire list.  Instead, they should be mailed to:
  18.         next-managers-request@stolaf.edu
  19.  
  20. 3:  This list is intended to be a quick-turnaround trouble shooting aid
  21.     for those who administer and manage NeXT systems.  Its primary purpose
  22.     is to provide the NeXT manager with a quick source of information for
  23.     system management problems that are of a time-critical nature.
  24.     Its secondary purpose is to disseminate time-critical or security-
  25.     related information.

  27. 4:  Answers to questions are to be mailed back to the questioner and are
  28.     NOT to be sent to the entire list.  The person who originally asked
  29.     the question has the responsibility of summarizing the answers and
  30.     sending the entire summary back to the list.  If everyone follows
  31.     this, one problem will only generate two or possibly three messages
  32.     on the list.  The summary message should contain the keyword "SUMMARY"
  33.     in the subject line.

  35. 5:  Corrections to compiled answers should be addressed only to the 
  36.     person who first asked the question; this person (the writer of
  37.     the original question) is then responsible for distributing
  38.     the corrected information to the list.

  40. 6:  Discussions on ANY topic are very strongly discouraged.

  42. 7:  If it is not specifically related to NeXT system management, then it
  43.     does NOT belong on this list. This includes advertising.  Advertising
  44.     is not appropriate for this list.
