  5. Here is a rather useful tool for NEXTSTEP users whom are
  6. delving into UNIX commands.  This distribution contains
  7. a front-end to the UNIX Manual Pages.
  8.  
  9. Of particular interest is the hack to allow splitviews.
  10. A splitview is a view which contains multiple views
  11. (usually two) separated by a resizing knob on a bar.
  12. A good example of such a device may be seen from your
  13. file viewer when resizing shelf is turned on from within
  14. the Workspace Mangler's Preferences panel.

  16. Granted my implementation is a hack, it works and could
  17. be duplicated (taking my code) quite easily.  Being that
  18. HS does not current support splitviews directly, this
  19. may be the way to do things for some time to come.  You
  20. will see some stackviewer scroll bars when you resize
  21. from a larger size to a smaller size.  This artifact
  22. will likely be fixed in the future, so don't worry about
  23. it.  Yes it is not quite so pretty, but I put SenseTalk
  24. code in to clean things up when you resize the ManualPages.sense
  25. main window frame.

  27. There is also some useful techniques in making your HS document
  28. look and feel more like a NEXTSTEP stand-alone application.
  29. The information and help options are of particular interest
  30. regarding this technique.  I must also point out that
  31. this document installs its menus into the Tools menu
  32. of HyperSense.

  34. Finally, you are welcome to use and abuse any of the code
  35. included in this distribution.  Just give credit where
  36. it is needed.  Use your best judgement.  And I do NOT
  37. take responsibility for the software's use/abuse/misuse.
