  15. A new version (2.0) of the EIB-ISB NEXTSTEP driver for Transputer based parallel computers is now available:

  19. It allows B004 compatible Transputer systems to be used from NEXTSTEP  running on Intel based computers. It has been tested with the INMOS D7205 occam toolkit and the PACT Parallel C v93.1 compiler. The distribution includes:

  21.     -    The driver (B004.config)
  22.     -    A NEXTSTEP version of the INMOS iserver
  23.     -    A NEXTSTEP version of the PACT pserver and pcc
  24.     
  25. These three components are delivered in pre-compiled form and have been tested under NEXTSTEP version 3.2 and 3.3.

  27. Changes since version 1.0:
  28.     
  29.     -    Rewritten from scratch as a DriverKit driver.
  30.         (test for conflicts, installation and configuration with Configure)
  31.     -    Provides a UNIX-like interface (/dev/b004)
  32.     -    Does not require a daemon to be installed anymore
  33.     -    Checks for the availability of the card during startup
  34.     -    Faster
  35.     -    Borrows nearly no CPU time
