  1. Welcome to the SoundBlaster 8/16 Version 2.01 driver!

  3. I've added support for SoundBlaster16. It's now possible to play 16bit
  4. sounds. Supports now NX_SoundStreamDataEncoding_Linear16 !!
  5.  
  6. The driver is now avaiable in binary format for everybody !
  7.  
  8. Since Creative Labs is NOT interrested in supporting NeXTStep (We've asked
  9. them to add the driver to the support drivers for the SB... and they did
  10. say "no market" ! ;-(( ), and since not much people registred the driver, 
  11. I deceided to give it out FREE !

  13. So, it is the full version ! Without restrictions !! 
  14.  
  15. I don't know yet how to record on a SoundBlaster16. The driver does 
  16. NOT SUPPORT RECORDING on a SoundBlaster16 ! If you try it, you will record
  17. garbage ... ;-(

  19. The SoundBlaster driver can be found on the ftp-site:

  31.  * Only NS FIP 3.2
  32. !* Has a driver inspector to activate the driver & to set the debug flag
  33.  * Plays 4-44kHz (4-24kHz on classic SoundBlaster)
  34.  * Records 4-12kHz
  35.  * Supports NX_SoundStreamDataEncoding_Linear8 and 
  36.    NX_SoundStreamDataEncoding_Linear16 sound encoding
