  1. Postgres 4.2 for NEXTSTEP:

  3. This NEXTSTEP release of Postgres 4.2 is UNSUPPORTED.  R&A provides this
  4. software as-is, as a service to the community. The software is shareware. If
  5. you like it, you may send us money to cover our expenses. If you pay enough,
  6. we might even do some support for you.

  8. Development and maintenance of postgres 4.2 at the University of Berkeley have
  9. stopped; if you don't absolutely need the features that postgres 4.2 has over
  10. its successor Postgres95 (postquel vs. SQL query language; large object
  11. filesystem; more bugs;-) you'd probably be better off with Postgres95 anyway.

  13. We do intend to keep supporting Postgres95 somewhat, see the postgres95
  14. distribution for details.
