  2.      Help with ModPlayer

  6.   ModPlayer is a program to  play back so called "Modules"
  7.   created with the "Soundtracker" application (and more or
  8.   less compatible derivatives thereof) on the Amiga. Most of
  9.   the sound effects made possible by the Soundtracker
  10.   software and the Amiga hardware can be played back with
  11.   the ModPlayer application.
  12.  
  13.   ModPlayer was developed from a Module-Playback
  14.   application for Sun Sparcstations, written by Liam Corner
  15.   and Marc Espie.
  16.  
  17.   Ingo Feulner adapted the playback code for use on
  18.       the NeXT and privided its rudimentary integration into
  19.       Objective-C.
  20.  
  21.   Matthias Zepf developed the User Interface and
  22.       provided general help and enthusiasm. This version
  23.       was made possible by a stroke of genius on his part.
  24.  
  25.   Markus Stoll contributed the physical theory and the
  26.       FFT code needed for the display of the sound spectrum.
  27.       He also made sure the communication with the Window
  28.       Server was error free.

  56.       Hints for the use of Version 2.5:

  58.       •    Programming the playback order is not yet implemented.
  59.  
  60.       •    Changes from version 2.0 to version 2.2:
  61.       -    ModPlayer will no longer crash after completely playing
  62.     back a module.
  63.       -    "Warnings" while compiling ModPlayer are removed.
  64.       -    The output of the spectrum analyser was incorrect in
  65.     special cases. Now the display is all right.
  66.       -    ModPlayer is now available in German and English.

  68.       •    Changes from version 2.2 to version 2.3:
  69.       -    ModPlayer now works with NeXTstep 3.0 Beta.
  70.       -    Play back position is displayed.
  71.       -    Error messages are localized.
  72.       -    New inspector (more information is now displayed in
  73.     the main window.)
  74.       -    Play back time (in minutes and seconds) is displayed.

  76.       •    Changes from version 2.3 to version 2.4:
  77.       -    Smaller main window.
  78.       -    Preferences.
  79.       -    Fixed some bugs in the playback code.
  80.       -    Better English and new French language project.
  81.       -    "Edit" menu to copy this help text.
  82.       -    Changed calculation to 11 kHz. This strongly reduces
  83.     CPU load. Now ModPlayer should run correctly on
  84.     68030 Cubes and Colorstations.
  85.       -    You may select the Sound Spectrum's refresh frequency
  86.     with the "Spectrum" slider in the Preferences panel.

  88.       •    Changes from version 2.4 to version 2.5:
  89.       -    Improved sound quality. Now the quality is similar to
  90.     V2.3, but it does not need so much CPU as V2.3 does.

  94.       •    The slider adhustments for speed and stereo take effect
  95.     after a delay of approximately one or two seconds.
