  1. CHANGES TO STATLIB DOCUMENTATION

  3. 1. Some of the letter keys used in the program have been changed
  4.    to function keys. A legend describing the operation of these
  5.    keys appears on every screen.
  6.  
  7. 2. Make generous use of the HELP feature which is activated by 
  8.    pressing F1. The HELP feature is available at all points in 
  9.    the program and is intended to guide you through any problems
  10.    you may encounter.

  12. 3. Some detailed operational changes follow:

  15. A. Page 12, last paragraph -- DATA INPUT PROGRAM
  16.    The "submenu that describes some global commands used throughout 
  17.    the program" is not a menu but is the HELP Screen accessed 
  18.    by pressing F1 at the Main Menu.

  20. B. Page 13, second paragraph -- DEFINING VARIABLES
  21.    There is no "option A to begin entering variable names." When you
  22.    choose to create a file, the program automatically comes to 
  23.    this mode as soon as you indicate a filename and description.

  25. C. Page 13, fourth paragraph -- DEFINING VARIABLES
  26.    "Option H to display the HELP Screen" should read "function 
  27.    key F1 to display the HELP Screen.

  29. D. Page 14, second full paragraph 
  30.    "If you want to change an entry, choose option R" should read, "If
  31.    you want to change an entry press function key F4.

  33. E. Page 14, same paragraph
  34.    The line "move on to the next case by choosing option N" is not 
  35.    necessary. After data has been entered for one case, that case is
  36.    processed and the next case is automatically displayed for data entry.

  39.    The line "When you have finished entering data for all your cases
  40.    choose option S..." should read "press function key F4."

  42. G. Page 15, SELECTING SUBSETS
  43.    Selecting of subsets takes place in the STATLIB1.BAS program. 
  44.    Defining subsets takes place in the STEDIT.BAS program.

  46. H. Page 16, STATISTICAL ANALYSIS
  47.    All statistical routines, frequency table, scatterplot, histogram,
  48.    etc. are part of the STATLIB1.BAS program. To run this program,
  49.    return to BASICA and type: Run "STATLIB1 [CR]. Additionally, there 
  50.    is no "option T" on the STATLIB1.BAS Main Menu. The choices are 
  51.    numeric.

  54.    To exit the data entry program (STEDIT.BAS), press "E" at the 
  55.    Main Menu. To exit the staqtistical routines program (STATLIB.BAS)
  56.    press "9" at the Main Menu.
