  1.                       UNNECESSARY ROUGHNESS 95' DEMO
  2.                       ------------------------------
  3. This is a playable demo of Unnecessary Roughness '95.  The demo is one
  4. fifteen minuet quarter between the San Francisco 49'ers and the Los
  5. Angles Raiders.  Please check below for system requirements and
  6. what to do if you have problems running this demo.
  7.  
  8.                        - SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS - 
  9.  
  10. To play "Unnecessary Roughness 95'" you must have:
  11. *  IBM + 100% compatible.
  12. *  386-33Mhz.
  13. *  8 MB RAM.
  14. *  DOS 5.0 and above.
  15. *  Hard Drive with 18 MB free. 
  16. *  VESA SVGA (640 X 480).
  17. *  Keyboard.
  18.  
  19. For optimum gameplay, we suggest you have:
  20. *  486-50Mhz with Local Bus Video Card.
  21. *  16 MB RAM.
  22. *  Sound Blaster or Compatible soundcard.
  23. *  Joystick.
  24.  
  25. NOTE: "Unnecessary Roughness 95'" does not run in Windows.

  60. If UNNECESSARY ROUGHNESS '95 gives an "Out of memory message" or you are
  61. experiencing freezes in the game you will need to boot your system "Clean."  Below
  62. please find instructions on how to "Boot Clean."
  63.

  65. BOOTING CLEAN -- USING DOS 5.0
  66.  
  67. You will need a floppy disk that will fit into your A: drive; this procedure 
  68. will only work in drive A.  Insert the floppy disk into your A: drive and 
  69. type "FORMAT A:/S". This will erase all data on the diskette so use one that 
  70. is new or no longer needed.
  71.  
  72. When the disk has finished formatting change to your A: drive.  Type the 
  73. following lines at the A prompt:
  74.  
  75.     COPY CON CONFIG.SYS <Enter>
  76.  
  77.     DOS=HIGH <Enter>
  78.     DEVICE=C:\DOS\HIMEM.SYS <Enter>
  79.  
  80. Press F6 <Enter>. You should see the message "1 file(s) copied." If the 
  81. message does not appear please follow these instructions again.

  83. VERY IMPORTANT!!!  ONLY USE THESE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE A: DRIVE!

  85. Next type these lines at the A: prompt:
  86.  
  87.     COPY CON AUTOEXEC.BAT
  88.  
  89.     PROMPT $P$G <Enter>
  90.     * All sound card lines.  You can find these command lines in your 
  91.      autoexec.bat on the c: drive.  They often look similar to this:
  92.     "SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 H5 P330 T6"
  93.     "SET SOUND=C:\SB16"
  94.     "C:\SB16\SB16SET /M:220 /VOC:220 /CD:220 /MIDI:220 /LINE:220 /TREBLE:0"
  95.     "C:\SB16\SBCONFIG.EXE /S"
  96.     Please note this is how these lines MAY look. If you have a Pro Audio Spectrum 16 
  97.     or other sound card these lines will be different.

  99.     You may also want to load your Mouse Driver command line:
  100.     An example is: C:\MOUSE\MOUSE
  101.                  
  102. Press F6 <Enter>. You should see the message "1 file(s) copied."  If the 
  103. message does not appear please follow these instructions again.

  105. REMEMBER, ONLY USE THESE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE A: DRIVE!

  107. You have just created a clean boot disk.  In order for the disk to take
  108. effect you must reboot your computer with this disk in the A: drive.
  109.  
  110. Press the <Ctrl><Alt><Delete> keys together to reboot.
  111.  
  112. At the A:> prompt, type C: and press <Enter>
  113.  
  114. To start "Unnecessary Roughness 95'" type CD\UR95PC <Enter>
  115.  
  116. Type UR95 and press <Enter>

  120. BOOTING CLEAN -- USING DOS 6.0 
  121.  
  122. Please follow the instructions for Booting Clean using DOS 5.0

  124. BOOTING CLEAN -- USING DOS 6.2X
  125.  
  126.      Reboot your computer.
  127.  
  128.      When you see the message "STARTING MS-DOS" hit the <F8> key at the top 
  129.      of your keyboard.
  130.  
  131.      You will see the message "DOS WILL PROMPT YOU CONFIRM EACH CONFIG.SYS
  132.      COMMAND."  Say yes to only the following:
  133.  
  134.      DOS=HIGH
  135.      DEVICE=C:\DOS\HIMEM.SYS
  136.  
  137.      If you are using a Sound Blaster compatible card you must also say yes 
  138.      to the Sound Card Driver line.  
  139.      
  140.      Say no to the rest of your lines until you are asked to process your 
  141.      AUTOEXEC.BAT.  Say yes to this line.

  143.     * Say yes to all Sound Card lines. They often look similar to this:
