- CyClones Instructions:

- To start game:
- Enter CYCLONES at the DOS prompt.
-
- Aiming:
- Move the cursor over the target. Cursor movement is controlled by
- either the cursor keys (keyboard) or the mouse (mouse).
-
- Shooting:
- Left click (mouse) or press the Space Bar (keyboard).
-
- Selecting:
- Right click (mouse) or Enter Key (keyboard).
-
- Moving:
- Keyboard (use numeric keypad):
- Ahead 8 key
- Ahead left 7 key
- Ahead right 9 key
- Turn left 4 key
- Turn right 6 key
- Back up either 5 or 2 key
- Slide left 1 key
- Slide right 3 key
- Jump + key

- Mouse (hold down right button and move arrow in area between cross
- hairs and box angles):
- Ahead Center, above cross hairs
- Ahead left Top left corner
- Ahead right Top right corner
- Turn left Center, left of cross hairs
- Turn right Center, right of cross hairs
- Backup Center, below cross hairs
- Slide left Bottom left corner
- Slide right Bottom right corner

- Using Cursor:
- The cursor is a part of a heads up display provided by the onboard
- computer. The computer changes the cursor to provide the following
- information to the HAVOC unit:
- Cross Hairs Color:
- Orange Over enemy unit
- Purple Over door
- Green Over something that may be used
- Angles around cross hairs:
- Angles present right click may be used to get
- items
- Angles gone right click selects options.
- What may be selected:
- Biokits, ammo, options, gun.
- Biokits are used to repair damage done to the HAVOC unit.
- Ammo is used to resupply the gun.
- Options include:
- Access inventory.
- Access options screen.
- Access automap.
- Change weapon.
- To select, move the cursor over what is to be selected and right
- click or press the Enter Key.

- Screen Display:
- Bottom left of screen, top item. Selecting this icon will bring up
- the Options Screen.

- Bottom left of screen, middle item. Selecting this icon will bring
- up the Automap Screen.
-
- Bottom left of screen, bottom item. Selecting this icon will bring
- up the inventory.
-
- Bottom right of screen, top item. This shows the HAVOC unit's status.
- Armor is shown in green on the left. Integrity is shown in blue on
- the right. As the unit is damaged, it loses integrity. Certain types
- of damage eliminate armor. When the unit loses all integrity, it is
- destroyed.

- Bottom right of screen, bottom item. Shows ammo status. Selecting
- this brings up weapons.

- Bottom of screen, left of center. This shows the HAVOC unit's facing
- in degrees where North is both 0 degrees and 360 degrees.
-
- Bottom of screen, right of center. This shows the HAVOC unit's facing
- as a compass direction.
-
- Bottom of screen, center. This shows your current weapon. If nothing
- shows here, you have either an empty weapon or no weapon. In this
- case, you will fight with your battle glove.

- Inventory:
- When an item such as a Biokit is selected, it goes into the
- inventory. To access this inventory, select the icon at the
- bottom left of the screen. All items currently in inventory will
- appear on the screen. To use one of these items, select it (its
- background and the reticle around the cross hair will turn red),
- move the cursor toward the center of the screen and right click.
- When a Biokit is used, it will repair some damage done to the
- HAVOC unit.

- To drop an item, select the drop option on the inventory screen (the
- cursor becomes a down arrow) and then select the inventory item to
- be dropped.

- To "put away" the inventory, move the cursor away from the inventory
- items and select.
-
- To use a key, the key must be in inventory. Select the key and right
- click on the door you want to open. To put the key away, right click
- on the key again, and then right click in the center of the screen.

- Weapon:
- Selecting the ammo count box will bring up the available weapons.
- To switch weapons, select the desired weapon and right click in the
- screen center.

- Automap:
- The HAVOC unit's location and facing are shown by an arrow over a
- dark red cell. Threats are shown in bright red.

- Areas you have explored are displayed in the viewport on the right
- side of the screen. At the bottom right, the HAVOC unit's bearing is
- shown in degrees and compass heading. Beneath this viewport are left
- and right rotation controls. Selecting the right arrow rotates the
- display to the right. Selecting the left arrow rotates the display
- to the left.

- The top left of the display shows a movable view of the HAVOC unit's
- memory. The degrees and compass direction below this memory window
- correspond to the direction of the cone in the viewport. To place
- this cone of view in the viewport, right click on the desired
- location in the viewport (right of screen), and drag the cone in
- the desired direction.

- To move the map, left click in the viewport and drag.

- To change the size of the right display, click in the ZOOM key.
- Right clicking will zoom out and left clicking will zoom in.

- To change walls, floors, doors, etc. from solid color to a wire
- frame, click on the appropriate button.
-
- To return to the original location, rotation, and zoom, select RESET.
-
- To leave the automap and return to the game, select EXIT.
-
- Options Screen:
- New Game will start a new game. Quit will exit to DOS.
- Return will go back to the game in progress.
