  1. UUCODE version 2.0 was released in January 1993.  UUCODE has been significantly enhanced from 
  2. versions 1.5 through 1.7.  Version 2.0 contains all the features of version 1.X plus the following new

  8. -    Use of common dialog box functions present in Windows 3.1   (Windows 3.0 users can still take 
  9. advantage of this feature with the COMMDLG.DLL file supplied).
  10. -    Full drag and drop support with multiple file capability (Windows 3.1 only).
  11. -    New user interface providing more interactive information.
  12. -    Configuration capabilities allowing running as an ICON and suppressing status messages (good 
  13. for background operation).
  14. -    On-Line help facility.
  15. -    On-Line order form and shareware license agreement.

  17. Decoding Features:

  19. -    Automatic detection of three common input formats; single file format (as in version 1), the 
  20. format used by Internet's comp.binaries.ibm.pc network news group, or the format used by the popular 
  21. SIMTEL20's Internet file archive site.
  22. -    Automatic multiple part joining, with no restrictions on the ordering of the parts.  The ordering 
  23. of the parts need not be in 1 to N order, but may be in any order.  This provides a large time and effort 
  24. savings.

  26. -    Automatic filtering of non UU encoded data, such as E-mail headers.  There is no need to 
  27. manually strip these from the input, thus saving time and effort.

  32. news group format or the Internet's SIMTEL20 archive site format.
  33. -    Configurable encoded file maximum output size for multiple part output to allow for various 
  34. maximum file sizes supported by your E-mail system(s).  The number of output parts are automatically 
  35. determined by the input file size and the maximum output file size.
