  3. This file contains installation instructions and other important
  4. information.
  5.  
  6. Shareware distributors who wish to distribute this program should
  7. read the file VENDOR.TXT for information on our distribution
  8. policy.  This file also contains information which may help you in
  9. evaluating and writing descriptions for this software in your
  10. catalog, on your BBS or however you distribute shareware.
  11.  
  12. The file SHAREWAR.TXT describes what shareware is, for those who
  13. may be new to shareware.  It also describes our registration
  14. policy, how to go about registering, what you get with registra-
  15. tion and the ASP Ombudsman statement. The Association of Shareware
  16. Professionals (ASP) sets standards for shareware authors (like
  17. Gamma Software) to ensure shareware works for you (the end user).

  20. INSTALLING GammaCAD
  21. -------------------
  22. You must have at least 650 kilobytes of free disk space to install
  23. the program.

  25. To install this program select "Run" from the "File" menu of the
  26. Program Manager.  Type the following in the "Command Line" box.
  27.  
  28.    a:\setup
  29.  
  30. Replace the path "a:\" with the path which contains the GammaCAD
  31. files. For example, use "b:\setup" if they are on a disk in the b:
  32. drive.  If the files are already in a directory on your hard disk
  33. enter that path. For example, use "c:\gcad\setup" if the files are
  34. in the "gcad" directory on drive c:.  Press Enter or click on the
  35. "OK" button to execute the command after you have entered it.

  37. The setup program will display a menu which allows you to enter
  38. the source and destination directories for the install. The source
  39. defaults to the directory from which you ran SETUP.  The destina-
  40. tion defaults to "c:\gcad". These defaults are usually correct. To
  41. use them simply press Enter or click on "OK".  If you wish to 
  42. install the software to a different directory press TAB to high-
  43. light the destination field and type in the path in which you wish
  44. to place the software and press Enter.

  46. Click on the "Cancel" button to leave the install without install-
  47. ing the software.  Clicking on the "View Document File" button 
  48. will bring up the Notepad program and allow you to view this file.
  49. Select "Exit" from the "File" menu to return to the install.

  51. If you are installing from a directory on your hard disk you may 
  52. enter the same directory for both the from and to directories. 
  53. This will keep the install from creating another copy of the 
  54. program files but will still create a Program Manager group for 
  55. GammaCAD.

  57. After the GammaCAD installation menu is completed the install will
  58. copy the files from the source drive to the destination directory.
  59. It will then create a Program Manager group and add the program 
  60. icons to that group.

  63. RUNNING GammaCAD
  64. ----------------
  65. To run GammaCAD simply double-click on the GammaCAD icon in the
  66. GammaCAD group of the Program Manager.

  68. The first screen has a brief message describing shareware and has
  69. options for registering and bringing up a list of what you get
  70. with registration.  You are initially placed in the "Press the X
  71. key to continue." field. To continue on to the rest of the program
  72. simply type the indicated letter in the field.

  75. Started" section of the manual.

  78. VIEWING \ PRINTING THE MANUAL
  79. -----------------------------
  80. To view the manual double-click on the MANUAL icon. This will load
  81. the manual into the Windows Write program.  To print the manual 
  82. select "Print" from the Write "File" menu.
