Language Assistant is a Macintosh application that gives organized, easy to follow access to several different dictionaries and a translation system that translates to and from English, French, German, Spanish, and many other languages, giving a total of 17 different languages and 272 language pairs.
Translation Files
Language Assistant 2.1 is now completely customizable through the use of ".trn", or translation files, found in the Translators folder next to the Language Assistant application. We have included translation files for three different translation servers with this distribution, but if you consider yourself a semi-advanced user (and you've found another translation server on the web) you might want to try writing your own translation file. Basic instructions for writing a translation file may be found by opening one of the files in the Translators folder and reading the comments.
If you've written a translation file and would like it to be included with the Language Assistant distribution, please e-mail it to us at the address below. If you've found another translation server on the web, but aren't sure how to make a new translation file, e-mail us the address of the server and we'll be happy to write one for you.
Whenever we add or change a translation file, Language Assistant will automatically download the new file to your hard drive so you can take advantage of the new features immediately.
Purchasing
