A true budget program that helps you setup and live by your budget. You may write checks, make deposits, enter pays and balance your checkbook. See at a glance how much money you have in over 150 budget and savings accounts and 25 investment accounts. This software is meant as a means of tracking expenses and budgeting funds. The investments section is for overall tracking of shares bought or sold and as a general guide to the performance of your investments. It is not intended for in depth tracking of fund performance nor is it to be used as an official means of reporting profit and loss to the IRS.
Installation (Mac OS 7.1 or later required)
When you download the program the files are on your hard drive. If you received the Budget program on a floppy disk insert the disk and drag the files to your hard drive. The application named Budget is for use on newer Macintosh computers that have the PowerPC processor (iMac, G3, etc). The application named Budget68k is for use on older Macintosh computers that have the 68K processor (IIsi, IIci, etc). If you are unsure which version of Budget to use try "Budget" first, if you get an error message from the system you have an older (680x0) processor use "Budget68K". Make a copy of the applications and sample budget file for backup. Remember, this is your financial data, ALWAYS MAKE COPIES OF YOUR DATA FILE FOR BACKUP. Documentation
The documentation is in PDF format (Adobe Acrobat V3.0 or higher is required). The documentation is in the form of a booklet with text pages on the left and graphics on the right. If your monitor screen is large enough set the view menu in Adobe reader to "Actual Size" and "Continuous - Facing Pages" for best results.
