- I%1/2, tsp, salt

- I%1, tsp, baking powder
- I%1/2, cup, margarine
- I%1, tsp, baking soda, (scant)

- R%The first four (4) ingredients are for the fig filling. The
- R%remaining seven (7) ingredients are for the cookie dough.

- R%Fig Filling:
- R%Combine fig filling ingredients and cook slowly, stirring
- R%constantly until thickened. Set aside to cool.

- R%Cookie Dough:
- R%Cream sugar and butter, add egg and then sifted dry ingredients.
- R%Roll out on floured board and cut with round cutter. Put one
- R%tsp. of filling in center of each round and fold over and
- R%lightly press down edges.

- R%Note: You can use a thimble to cut out center of half of the
- R%rounds and place it on top of whole rounds instead of folding
- R%over. This makes a round filled cookie.

- R%Place on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 10
- R%to 12 minutes.
