  3. THIS README IS VERY SHORT, SO PLEASE READ IN ITS ENTIRETY! :-)

  5. *Demo Version (Shareware)*
  6.  
  7. The latest demo version is always available at
  8. http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage.  When the demo is downloaded, it
  9. will operate for 30 days with some limitations in functionality.  The
  10. demo (qpxx-xx.exe) may be distributed freely provided that the file
  11. is distributed in unmodified form and the demo is NOT accompanied by any
  12. additional information or software that allows extension of the trial
  13. period or capability to unlock the demo.  Reasonable distribution fees
  14. may be charged for distributing the demo in shareware CD's, etc. but any
  15. costs should be limited to the cost associated with distribution of media
  16. only.

  18. *License Information (Registered Version Only)*
  19.  
  20. Unless otherwise specified in your registration email, you are granted a
  21. single license for Qimage.  This license authorizes the use of one
  22. copy of Qimage to be run at any given time.  A single user can
  23. install Qimage on multiple computers if only one copy of Qimage
  24. will be running at any given time.  In addition, Qimage can be
  25. installed on a single workstation and used by several users if only one
  26. copy is in use (one person is using the software) at any given time.  If 
  27. you require more than a single license under these conditions, 
  28. additional copies must be purchased.  Discounts are available for 10
  29. copies or more.  Inquiries regarding multiple copies or site licenses 
  30. are welcome and should be addressed to mchaney@ddisoftware.com.

  32. *Links*

  34. Links to http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage are welcome.  Since Qimage
  35. is updated often, if you plan to link directly to the software itself
  36. (we recommend linking to the homepage instead), it is best to link to
  37. http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage/demo.htm instead of using a copy of
  38. the demo on your site.  In addition, if you plan to distribute Qimage
  39. on a shareware CD, we would appreciate an email from you
  40. (mchaney@ddisoftware.com) prior to including Qimage in your 
  41. distribution since there may be a new version only a day or two away.

  43. *Important: Qimage Failsafe Startup*
  44.  
  45. If you get an error when starting Qimage, it is possible that the
  46. initialization/printer parameters have been corrupted, or an image in the
  47. last folder visited is unable to load.  To correct this situation and load
  48. Qimage in "Safe Mode", forcing it to revert to initial installation
  49. settings, simply hold down the shift key before/while you click on the 
  50. Qimage icon.  You can then examine one image at a time and/or 
  51. change folders, printer parameters, etc.

  53. *"Factory" Reset*
  54.  
  55. If you are unable to start Qimage in safe mode, it is possible that
  56. some files have been corrupted.  If you delete the three files:
  57.  
  58. \program files\qimage\qimage.ini
  59. \program files\qimage\qimagepr.ini
  60. \program files\qimage\icm.ini
  61.  
  62. all parameters will be reset to their default settings and the next
  63. startup will be treated as a "fresh" install.
  64.  
  65. *Qimage Un-Install Instructions*
  66.  
  67. (1) Click "Start", "Settings" and "Control Panel"
  68.  
  69. (2) Click "Add/Remove Programs"
  70.  
  71. (3) Highlight "Qimage" and press the "Add/Remove" button.
  72.  
  73. Qimage will be removed from your PC (files, folders and icons).

  75. *Help and Tech Support*
  76.  
  77. Please refer to the extensive online help (by selecting "Help", "Contents"
  78. from within Qimage) for operation of the program.  There is also a
  79. "Troubleshooting" section in the help that is very useful for tracking
  80. down common problems with settings and installation.
