SPITE'S HOMEPAGE: www.spitenet.com or http://members.aol.com/spitegames
If you didn't download this file from Spite's site, stop by and check if you have the latest version. You can also add your name and email address to Spite's MessageBoard if you are looking for Internet players after you register.
If you have already installed S&M and find that you don't have the latest version, a patch can be downloaded from Spite's Site that will update your game.
This version includes 8 background graphics. You can download "Backpacks" from Spite's Site, which are free add-on packs of backgrounds for your game. The "Starter Backpack" contains 10 additional backgrounds that we believe are the best of the best for your enjoyment while playing Spite & Malice!
SpiteNET: SPITE & MALICE is designed for a minimum of 800x600 monitor resolution, however it will fit on 640x480 using number cards only. It looks best with 1024x768 resolution, and more than 256 colors (High Color - 16 bit recommended).
If you are low on memory (16 MB of RAM), use the plain green background. Image files take up memory, so if you find the screen redraws slowly, use the plain background instead of the picture backgrounds.
If the numbers on the cards or the S&M card logo letters look jagged, you may need Microsoft's FREE font smoothing patch for Win95. Information for downloading and updating your version of Win95 is available at Spite's Site, Technical Support page.
