  13. 1. The purpose of the program.
  14. Pairs 1.40  is a  memory  game designed  to test your  memory and  stimulate 
  15. interest in youngsters to  encourage  them to learn foreign words or musical 
  16. notation. A  grid  of 9x12  squares  is used  to hide  a set of  54 pairs of 
  17. images. The player has to find the matching pairs by revealing them two at a 
  18. time. Clicking the right  mouse button  over an image will give  the name of 
  19. the object in either  English, French, German  or Spanish. Nine  image  sets 
  20. are used including FOOD,  FLAGS,  MUSIC,  ALPHABET and COLOURS. Also lots of 
  21. fun for adults who just want to relax.

  23. 2. Installation. how to install the program.
  24. With  this  text  file  you  will find  a 'self  extracting  ZIP' file named
  25. 'pr140su1.exe'. This   program   unzips  into   a   temporary   folder   and
  26. automatically  runs a setup  program which will ask you where to install the
  27. program files.  Once you have installed the program, the temporary files are
  28. automatically deleted  and you  will be asked  to reset your computer before
  29. running   'Pairs'. 'Pairs'   adds   a   group    named   'Games'   to   your 
  30. 'Start'/'Programs' speed menu.

  32. 3. The status of the program
  33. Pairs   is  Shareware. When   you  instal  the program you  will be assigned
  34. a unique user code. The  unregistered  version  of  the  program   is  fully
  35. functional  and  will  run on your system for a total run time period of six
  36. hours. At  the  end  of  this  time the  program  will stop  running until a
  37. password is entered using  the 'Program/Register'  menu option. When you pay
  38. the small  registration fee (10 Pounds Sterling, or about $16 U.S.A, we have
  39. bills too !), we will send you the password for your user  code. The program
  40. will then run indefinitely.

  42. 4. The distribution status of the program.
  43. You are encouraged to freely copy and distribute the unregistered version of
  44. this software provided it remains unmodified, complete in its original form,
  45. and no fee is required. You may not make any changes or modifications to the
  46. software, and you may not  decompile, disassemble  or  in  any  way  reverse
  47. engineer  the software. You may not use any  parts of  this  program  in any
  48. other   commercial  product. This  software  is   provided  "as is"  without
  49. warranties  of  any  kind.  Responsibility  rests entirely with  the user to
  50. determine its fitness for a particular  purpose. THE MAGIC  SPOON FACTORY OR
  51. ANY  OF  ITS  EMPLOYEES, SHALL  NOT  IN  ANY  CASE  BE  LIABLE  FOR SPECIAL,

  73. In the main menu under 'Program' there  is an item 'Uninstal'. If you select
  74. this  item in the 'Pairs' program, the whole package will be removed cleanly 
  75. from you computer.
