Introduction
------------
The game is similar to Asteroids. Shoot the spinning donuts and score points.
How to play
-----------
Move your ship around the screen shooting the spinning donuts. If you get into trouble, jump into hyperspace. You will appear somewhere else on the screen randomly. The point you jump to is not guaranteed to be safe though. You could jump right into a donut. If a donut or other object strikes your ship, you die.
At the end of each level, bonus points are given based on how quickly you destroyed all of the donuts.
An indestructible asteroid will be added to the game every 3 levels. The asteroids cannot be destroyed, but you can push them away from your ship by shooting them.

--------

Other Controls:

BackSpace - Pause the game during the action
Enter/Q - Continue pass the cut scenes
Z - Show the games speed in frames per second
X - Turn off the speed limiter (the game will play really fast if you do this)

J - Turns on or off the joystick
Game Play Hints
---------------
Try to keep the asteroids under control. Slow them down. If they get going really fast, it can be very difficult to avoid them.
Each player can only have 6 bullets on the screen at a time, so try not to over extend yourself. If all six of your bullets are on the screen and a donut comes at you, you can only attempt to dodge it or jump into hyperspace. The best thing to do is keep your firing to groups of 2 or 3 shots.
HyperSpace can only be used every 3 seconds, so once you use it, you must wait to do it again.
Don't be afraid to put your ship into motion, it is much easier to avoid objects if your ship is already moving and your firing will be spread out more.

Help!!!
-------
I do not do graphics very well. If you have looked at my graphic files, especially the one for the ship and know you can do a better ship for me, please do so. You can do just one frame facing up and I can create the other directions from that one (or you can do the whole thing). The size does not have to be the same, but a close approximation would be nice.
If you are an artist and might like to help on future graphic additions to the game, then please come to the DonutRoids website or send me an email. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, I do not do sound or music at all. If you can put together a MIDI file or other sound effects for the game or future additions to the game, please let me know.
Credit will be given to anybody who helps in this ReadMe file and on screen in the game.

DonutRoids! was created entirely by Marcus Trisdale except for the following:
The spinning donut graphic comes from Microsoft's DirectX SDK. I do not know who created it.
The four spinning asteroid graphics are from a sample game that comes with the DirectX 7 VB SDK called SpaceShooter 2000. The game was written by Adam "Gollum" Lonnberg and, as far as I know, he created the spinning asteroids graphics.
