- ABBREVIATED INSTRUCTION MANUAL
-
-
- The game is set in the year 2099, in an automatic, fortified laboratory
- station placed in the orbit of Phobos, the satellite of Mars. The station,
- built by some mysterious civilization that died many thousand years ago, is
- a threat to the Earth, and should then be destroyed. The mission was
- assigned to a new-generation robot, controlled by the player. Its task is
- to collect pieces of nuclear materials scattered over the area of the
- station and to put them together, which will result in a nuclear explosion
- and destruction of the laboratory. However, the mission may prove harder
- than one could expect. The station contains a hundred levels, and lethal
- danger might be encountered almost on any of them. The robot's actions are
- continually disturbed by mysterious creatures emerging from nowhere.
- Although some of them are friendly, completing the mission requires a lot
- of skill, quick reaction and common sense.
-
- The game requires a PC AT compatible (or better) with at least 512 KB
- memory and 1.5 MB hard disk space, a VGA card and DOS 3.0 or higher. Sound
- Blaster card would be a benefit.
-
- Before starting the game, you must perform two steps. First, install the
- files using the INSTALL.EXE program. Next, configure the game by means of
- the CONFIG command. If you experience slowness or other undesirable effects
- while playing, decrease the sampling frequency or turn off the sound.
-
- To run the game, type in PHOBDEMO and press Return. The following keys are
- used to control the program.
-
- Arrows Change the robot's direction. Alternatively, you can use
- left/right mouse buttons or a joystick.
-
- F3 function key Toggles control modes between directional and rotational
- control.
-
- Escape key Returns you to the main menu.
-
- Alt+Q keys Immediately terminates the game and returns you to DOS
- (might be useful when the boss comes in).
-
- M key Displays the map of entire level.
