  7. OVERVIEW
  8.  
  9.   K-Chess Elite is a powerful and versatile chess program designed to
  10.   help you play better. It is ideal for casual players, children
  11.   learning to play chess, and anyone wanting to improve their game.
  12.  
  13.   K-Chess Elite has lots of features to help you play. See the pieces
  14.   that have been taken, where pieces can move, who can take what, which
  15.   move the computer recommends, whether checkmate is inevitable, and
  16.   more. Set the board to a specific layout, rotate it, enlarge it,
  17.   change the set of pieces, and even add your own comments to a game.

  19.   Unlimited undo and redo is available, plus move hinting and replay,
  20.   giving you complete control of the game and allowing alternate
  21.   strategies to be explored. Print board layouts and move lists. Save
  22.   games to disk and reload at any time.

  24.   K-Chess Elite can play with two players, one player against the
  25.   computer (either black or white), or the computer against itself.
  26.   Choose from a variety of time restrictions, or none at all. Change
  27.   the playing strength to suit yourself. There are dozens of options
  28.   to customise the appearance and operation of the game.

  30.   There is full keyboard and mouse control, and easy to use button bar,
  31.   and extensive help. And it plays a good game of chess too!

  78. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  80.   K-Chess Elite comes with both 16 bit and 32 bit versions in the one
  81.   package.

  83.   K-Chess Elite 16 requires a PC with 386 or higher processor, 2MB memory,
  84.   1MB free disk space, VGA graphics, and running Windows 3.1 or higher or
  85.   OS/2 Warp 3.0 or higher with Windows.

  87.   K-Chess Elite 32 requires a PC with 386 or higher processor, 4MB memory,
  88.   1.5MB free disk space, VGA graphics, and running Windows 95 or higher or
  89.   Windows NT.

  91.   Both programs require graphics resolution of at least 600 x 480 in 16
  92.   colours. The textured backgrounds look best in 256 colours or higher.

  94.   A sound card is required for sound effects.

  99. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

  101.   K-Chess Elite must be installed onto a hard disk with at least 1MB of free
  102.   space (1.5MB under Windows 95 or Windows NT).

  104.   1. Put the Installation Disk in drive A:.
  105.  
  106.   2. Select the Run function from the File menu in Program Manager (in
  107.      Windows 3.1) or the Start button (in Windows 95).
  108.      
  109.   3. Enter "a:setup".
  110.  
  111.   4. Press Enter to begin installation.  When requested, enter the drive
  112.      and/or directory to install the program to, or just press <Enter>
  113.      to accept the default.

  115.   K-Chess Elite is supplied on high density 1.44MB 3.5" diskettes. 5.25"
  116.   diskettes are available at additional cost.

  118.   Note:  K-Chess Elite is installed by K-Install for Windows, also available
  119.   as a separate product from ARK ANGLES.  K-Install has an extensive range
  120.   of powerful features for software developers and publishers, and is very
