  21. QUESTION:  I get the message "EGA / VGA Monitor required." when I  try
  22.            to run Chinese Checkers.  What I do?
  23.  
  24. ANSWER:    Your IBM compatible PC doesn't have an EGA or VGA  monitor.
  25.            If you want to run Chinese Checkers, you will have to go to
  26.            a  computer store to see it run.  Maybe you'll decide  that
  27.            it's time to get a new computer!

  30. QUESTION:  Can I run Chinese Checkers from a floppy drive?
  31.  
  32. ANSWER:    Yes, by entering the command CHINESE, but the game will run
  33.            MUCH slower than it would on a hard drive.

  36. QUESTION:  How do I install Chinese Checkers to my hard drive?
  37.  
  38. ANSWER:    None of our software is copy protected so the software  can
  39.            be  easily  copied to your hard drive using the  MKDIR  and
  40.            COPY  commands.  If  you  are  unfamiliar  with  these  DOS
  41.            commands,  we have provided a simple  installation  routine
  42.            for less experienced users:
  43.              1.  Insert the diskette into the floppy drive you want to
  44.                  install from.
  45.              2.  Type A: (or B:) then press [Enter].
  46.              3.  Type INSTALL, then press [Enter]. (Type INSTALL D: if
  47.                  you want to install to your D: Drive)
  48.              4.  Installation   to   your  hard   drive   will   begin
  49.                  automatically.

  65. QUESTION:  My  mouse  works in Windows, why doesn't it  work  in  your
  66.            software?
  67.  
  68. ANSWER:    Windows has special built-in drivers to support  mice.  Our
  69.            software  looks  for a Microsoft  compatible  mouse  driver
  70.            which is loaded when you  turn on your computer. A diskette
  71.            should have  come with your mouse which contains MOUSE.SYS,
  72.            MOUSE.COM  or  similar  files.  Try  placing  the   command
  73.            MOUSE.SYS in your CONFIG.SYS file or the  command MOUSE.COM
  74.            in  your AUTOEXEC.BAT file.   These are the files that  DOS
  75.            executes when you  turn on your computer, and if your mouse
  76.            is  Microsoft compatible, your mouse should now work.

  79. QUESTION:  Can Chinese Checkers be run under Windows?

  81. ANSWER:    Yes,  although it is not a Windows product.  Here's how:
  82.            1.  In  the Program Manager press the ALT-F for the  "Files
  83.                Menu".
  84.            2.  Press N for "New".
  85.            3.  Select "Program Item".
  86.            4.  Under "Description" enter Chinese Checkers.
  87.            5.  Under "Command Line" enter \CHINESE\CHINESE.EXE
  88.            6.  Press the "Change Icon" button and when it prompts  for
  89.                the file name enter \CHINESE\CHINESE.ICO then press OK.

  92. QUESTION:  I  get  the  message "Not enough memory"  and  my   program
  93.            doesn't run. What can I do?
  94.  
  95. ANSWER:    You  need a computer with at least 640K memory to  run  our
  96.            software.  Run  the CHKDSK command to make  sure  that  you
  97.            have "655360 total bytes memory".   The last line tells you
  98.            how  many bytes your  computer has free. If  your  computer
  99.            has less than  512000 bytes free, a program loaded in  your
  100.            CONFIG.SYS  or  AUTOEXEC.BAT  file is  taking  up   memory.
  101.            Locate a knowledgeable person and ask  him/her to help  you
  102.            get  these programs out of your  memory. If you have a  286
  103.            or 386 computer and 1  megabyte of memory or more, you  can
  104.            free additional memory by upgrading to DOS 5.0.

  107. QUESTION:  I  don't understand what "shareware" is.  Why do I have  to
  108.            order Chinese Checkers if I already have a copy of it?
  109.  
  110. ANSWER:    Because  you haven't paid for it.  If you "bought"  Chinese
  111.            Checkers  from  a shareware vendor, you only paid  for  the
  112.            disk,  not  the actual program.  At the opening  screen  of
  113.            Chinese Checkers press the F1 key.  A detailed  explanation
  114.            about the shareware concept will appear for you there.
