The period on your keyboard can be used to toggle both the dot and double-dot note attributes. Simply customize your toolbars, and add the double-dot command tool directly after the dot command tool. Once this is done, the double-dot command will be cycled along with the dot command when a period is pressed.
There are several samples included in the package that demonstrate how to create repeated sections in your songs using Flow Directions, Special Endings, and repeat bar lines.
Look for the songs REPEAT*.NWC in the Samples folder for details. The File Info in these songs explains them in more detail.

When creating beamed notes or triplets, the notes must be added to the staff first. The notes are then selected, and then beamed or converted to triplets with the Beam or Triplet commands.

You can get help on any menu command simply by highlighting it in the menu and then pressing F1.
All items can be edited after they have been added to a staff. For notes and rests, simply select them and you can change the note options via the Note menu or toolbar. For other items, simply select the item and then press Ctrl+E, or select the Edit Selection command.

If you make a mistake while editing your song, you can simply undo the action using the Undo command on the Edit menu.

When entering notes remotely from a MIDI keyboard, you can change note durations using controllers that are usually included on MIDI keyboards.
The pitch bend wheel, data entry slider, modulation wheel, and modulation pedal can be used to change the current note duration remotely.

Performances saved in standard MIDI files (*.mid) can be imported and converted to standard notation using the File Import command.

While in a dialog, you can cut, copy, and paste text from within any text edit box, including the lyric text boxes.
Select the text, and press Ctrl+X to cut selected text, Ctrl+C to copy selected text, or Ctrl+V to paste text while in an edit control.

While entering lyrics, you can use the underscore (_) character as a blank syllable in order to skip notes on the staff. The underscore is shown as a blank space on the staff.

Note durations, accidentals, and other attributes can be set for existing notes by selecting them first. After a note is selected, it can be modified by pressing the buttons in the note tool bar.

Before transposing a staff that is written in C major, make sure that a key signature is included at the beginning of the staff. This will then get transposed to the new key signature automatically.
When creating repeated sections that include special endings, the ending containing the first ending should always appear before other endings, and should be concluded using a Master repeat Close marker.

Repeats, special endings, and flow redirections should always be placed in every staff of a score. This will enable the song to be played back correctly.
Fermatas and breath marks can be added using the Tempo Variance item.

If one or more notes continue to sound after play has been stopped, this can be cleared simply by pressing the Stop button. This will turn off all possible notes, which should clear the problem.

Drum sounds are usually provided by sound cards on MIDI channel 10. Different note pitches usually map to different drum sounds. The file DRUMREF.NWC in the Samples folder demonstrates all the of General MIDI notes.

The title, author, and copyright information are set from the File Info command. This information is also displayed in the printout if authoring information is enabled for the score (from Page Setup).

You can automatically beam the notes on a staff based on the current time signature using the Automatic Beam function in the Tools menu. All notes that are both eligible for a beam and that fall into a single beat will be beamed together.

The vertical space used by a staff can be changed from the Staff Properties command. The vertical sizing properties are in the Visual tab.

The up and down stem direction tools apply to rests as well as notes.

You can combine a smaller rest with one or more notes to form a split chord. Add the rest first, assigning it a stem direction. Now, add the notes in the opposite stem direction.

Delay times associated with Fermata and Breath Mark items do not export to a MIDI file, as these items do not exist in the MIDI file standard. You can use hidden tempo changes to achieve a similar effect if you are going to export a song.

Play back can be setup to always start at the beginning of a song, or near the insertion point. This is controlled from using controls in the MIDI tab of the Options command (on Tools menu).
