  1. FINAL WRITER VERSION 4.01 UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS

  4. 1.  Insert a Final Writer Disk 1 (not Disk 8) in your floppy drive.
  5.  
  6.     Disk 1 contains the installation program.  Use eather the original
  7.     Disk 1 that came with your Final Writer product, or the one that
  8.     came with your Release 4 upgrade.
  9.  
  10. 2.  Double-click on Disk 1's icon to open its window.
  11.  
  12. 3.  Locate and double-click on the icon named "HDInstall".
  13.  
  14.     This will start the installation program.  After a few seconds the
  15.     "Welcome to FinalWriter Installation" window will appear.
  16.  
  17. 4.  Click on "Proceed with Install".
  18.  
  19.     The "Installation Options" window will appear.
  20.  
  21. 5.  Click on "Proceed".
  22.      
  23.     The "Select Drawer" window will appear.
  24.  
  25. 6.  Select the disk or drawer wher the Final Writer DRAWER is located.
  26.     
  27.     Not the program, but the Drawer it is located in.
  28.  
  29. 7.  Click on "Proceed".

  31.     The "What parts to update" window will appear.

  33. 8.  Deselect (uncheck) all checkboxes except for the "Final Writer Program"
  34.     checkbox.
  35.  
  36. 9.  Click on "Proceed".
  37.  
  38. 10. When prompted for Disk 8, insert this disk 8 into the floppy drive.

  40.     Disk 8 contains the Final Writer 4.01 program.  Once you enter this 
  41.     disk the installation program will transfer it on to your hard drive
  42.     replacing the old version.

  44. 11. When the installation is complete, click on the "Proceed" button.

  47. NOTE:  When you run Final Writer you can know you have the updated version
  48.        by looking at the program's title bar.  The title bar should
  49.        indicate Release 4.01 instead of Release 4.
