  34.   Hi folks ! Just see this as an open letter to Wolfman and the rest
  35.   of the Upstream 10 team.
  36.  
  37.   I just got the mag and was quite impressed. A really good mag and
  38.   very usefull for the scene and other person. Then I saw the Commander
  39.   virus article written by Wolfman.
  40.  
  41.   I just to want to say some words to it (especially to Wolfman):

  43.   1. You mention the Commander virus as one of the most dangerous viruses
  44.      at this time. This is not correct. Commander is just a normal linkvirus,
  45.      without desructive routines. Burn A+B or Crime`92 are heavy viruses and
  46.      really dangerous.
  47.   2. You write some words about the memoryusage of this virus. Not always
  48.      correct.
  49.   3. You mention that Commander infected files become about 1.5 KB longer
  50.      and an active commander virus can cheat DirectoryOpus. An infected
  51.      file becomes 1664 bytes longer and it does not special tricks out
  52.      DirectoryOpus.
  53.   4. You mention that the original LoadWB command is 1136 bytes long. Are
  54.      you sure that it is in ALL revisions of WB 1136 bytes long ? I am not !
  55.   5. Check advise to check the LoadWB command on a hd. Quite nice, but
  56.      if it is not "dh0:c/loadwb" you need not to look special for this.
  57.      A whole filecheck would be better.
  58.   6. You mention a fake VirusWorkshop. You called this version, which
  59.      claims to recognize Commander, V4.3+. I have never seen this
  60.      4.3+ version and saw never a warning. I got never a message from
  61.      one of the TRSi channels, nice try guys...
  62.      You wrote: in any means, don`t use THAT one. If you mean not to
  63.      use the fakeversion, otherwise I see there a problem for you.
  64.   7. You advise to use COmkill to clear your hd from Commander. You seem
  65.      to have not so much knowing about computerviruses and the
  66.      abilities of viruskillers nowadays. Comkill 1.4 can (same as VirusChecker)
  67.      only remove one way of infections of Commander. The other way will
  68.      be not reapired correct and causes a wrong 4 byte array in every
  69.      file.

  73.   Commander virus. Better check your information next time even more
  74.   secure.
