  3. Hi and welcome to ART OF NOISE !

  5. This is the preview of the final-sales version of AON. To install
  6. it on your hd or disk just copy the files extracted from the lha-file
  7. to any directory an your hd/disk and then assign it as 'aon:', otherwise
  8. the preferences file etc. can't be found!
  9.  
  10. FEATURES OF AON
  11. ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
  12. First of all, it is 100% protracker compatible (load-format !)
  13. That means, that you don't have to get used to new shortcuts
  14. to old (protracker) functions ! But that doesn't mean, that this tracker
  15. is just another protracker clone! You might already have noticed, that
  16. AON has got dozens of new functions. If you load AON for the first
  17. time, you might be slayed by all these new functions, but it's
  18. worth taking a look at them. I think it would be the best to list up a few
  19. of them:

  21. - OS-2 graphical environment !  Reqtools-Requester !
  22. - Supports euro-72 monitors !!
  23. - 8 channels! But in contrary to startrekker/octamed/oktalyzer this time
  24.   REAL 8 channels, that means free volume/pitch-settings on EVERY channel,
  25.   loops ofcourse also possible !
  26. - maximal number of instruments increased to 61 !
  27. - maximal number of patterns increased to 128 !
  28. - maximal number of positions increased to 256, including restartposition !!
  29. - wavetable & sampleinstruments.
  30. - 'macro' instruments possible: E.g. 10 instruments can share the
  31.   same waveform, but the samplestart (for example, there is certainly
  32.   a greater number of possibilities offered by this feature!) can
  33.   vary from instrument to instrument ! Wavetable instruments can be
  34.   used to create 64er-like sounds, but they are also great for big
  35.   resonance-pads etc. !!
  36. - number of player-commands increased from 28 (protracker) to 45 ! And
  37.   there are ofcourse a lot to come in future versions !
  38. - Supports powerpacker and STONECRACKER (the best cruncher around!)
  39. - Arpeggio (maximal 7 notes!) + any other effect, arpeggio speed changeable
  40. - Remark (normal textfile/ansi) linkable to module !!
  41. - FM-Synthesis !
  42. - Drumsequencer! Make your own drumlines with up to 16 tracks !!
  43. - Big sampleeditor ! Features samples>128k, multisampling, sample-trigger
  44.   digital-filter with selectable depth, flanger, phase-distortion, direct
  45.   'freestyle' sampleediting: paint your own waves !
  46. - supports external-synchronizing, e.g. for demos or other presentations!
  47. - Player is easy to build in in own programs.
  48. - Turbo-Player available, takes about 1-2 rasterlines (faster than any
  49.   other player!)
  50. - Update service for future versions!

  65. plus 4 disks (program/workshop/instruments/demomods) !

  67. The preview version lacks of save-routines, but all effects and functions
  68. are useable!
