- Digital Audio Systems Designs' Module Player 4.0 beta version 2
- (beta 1 was for very limited group of users)
-
- I doubt that I should call this beta, it is still more like
- alpha version....well who cares.
-
- This file MUST NOT BE spreaded to anyone. The only place to get this
- archive is from DASDg's Home Page http://www.sci.fi/~pporkka/Welcome.html
- and if you have received this file from somewhere else please contact
- your system operator and ask him to remove this archive.
-
- If this version spreads to public BBS's, ftp sites or to someone elses
- homepage I *will* *stop* distributing these beta versions for public use.
-
-
- NOTE:
-
-
- List files are no longer backward compatible, so if you wish to
- ensure that you can still use the old version, make a backup
- copy of your ENV:dasmp/ drawer and your list files.
-
-
- Following files should be located in Config Drawer
- (was in previous versions called 'EPL Config Drawer')
-
- "dasmp.author"
-
- Default for this directory will be PROGDIR:cfg/ so it might
- be a good idea to make one for yourself.
-
- You should have this kind of directory structure under
- the directory where DASMP is being run from. Run from WB!
-
- cfg/
- epl/
- iol/ ' well this isn't used right now but make it there anyway
-
-
-
- DO NOT send me requests of new EPLs or new effects (scopes and such)
- since I already have dozens of suggestions but just haven't had
- time to make any of them.
-
-
- There is no documentation included and using old help file is not
- recommended since so much have changed since it was written
-
- -
-
-
- FILES TO DELETE:
-
- Delete the old dasmp.extlib file.
-
- dasMOD.library replaces das68CH and dasFAST libraries
- in your epl/ directory, so please delete them.
-
-
- Non-English users:
-
- I also suggest that you remove your dasmp.catalog. The old catalog
- file is not usable with this version.
- -
-
-
-
- If you are not sure how to do things mentioned above please
- use the old 3.5b version for the time being and wait for the
- actual release of 4.0.
-
-
-
- NEW THINGS since alpha 2:
-
- EPLs have now one common 'Sound settings' which will be used in
- final version to set user settings for all EPLs requiring
- configurations. So far only provided S3M and MOD (4 to 32 channel
- MOD format files) EPLs supports this. These two libraries also
- support AHI (!!!) so you can now listen S3M and 4 to 32 channel MODs
- through AHI interface (controls in 'sound settings' in EPL
- configuration window) using for example Delfina 16 bit sound card.
-
- XM and MTM EPLs with the above support will be also available in 4.0
- and hopefully OCSS in 4.1. Other possibilities include ImpulseTracker
- support for 4.1 (remote possibility though).
-
- Search/Selector system has some new search options in it.
-
- Lots of bugs removed
-
- 'Clipboard' works.
-
- Author system is now finalised on most parts. The importing
- to other peoples Amigas as 'external author file' is not yet
- finalised (I doubt that it will be for the 4.0, instead I'll
- try to make it for the 4.1 along with other missing things)
-
- Changed the list file format slightly (again). DASMP makes
- conversion from older list files to newer and bigger files may
- take a few more seconds to load.
-
- Menus have been changed quite a bit.
-
-
- KNOWN BUGS:
-
- I haven't touched the arexx interface so far, so most of the
- arexx commands may crash your Amiga, be warned!
-
- IOL thingy doesn't actually do anything right now, so don't try
- to do anything with it.
-
- Enforcer hits while opening new list window ('new' or 'load'),
- some byte reads from low memory areas are generated. I'll fix
- it immediately after I find the particular MUI object which
- is being created while this happens (note: the problem is with DASMP
- not with MUI).
-
- Drag&Drop doesn't work right now.
-
- Showlist entry in menus doesn't affect anything at this beta. I am
- considering expanding it a little to include showing only selected
- entries, how does this sound, does anyone need it?
-
-
- THINGS TO COME:
-
-
- Drag&Drops for lists.
-
- Help bubbles.
-
- Lots of smaller things which are either disabled or non-functional.
-
-
-
- READ:
-
- Do not judge this program according to this particular release,
- it is NOT FINAL RELEASE version.
-
- Please inform me of any bugs and/or enforcer hits you find.
