  5. Installation

  8.     The "Install_XModule" icon requires the Commodore Installer
  9. utility located somewhere in the Workbench path (usually in "SYS:Utilities").
  10. If you haven't got the Installer, you can install XModule manually
  11. making a new drawer and dragging XModule icon and its documentation in it.

  14. New Pattern Editor
  15. ==================

  17.     Starting with release 3.2, XModule incorporates a full featured pattern
  18. editor with keyboard and mouse driven scrolling, range selection and
  19. multiple undo/redo function.  The supported keyboard sequences are
  20. described in the documentation (have a look at it).  I'm sorry that there
  21. is still no replay routine, but I have already contacted Jarno Paanen (the
  22. author of PS3M) and Peter Kunath (the author of DeliTracker).  Both of them
  23. have been so kind to give me all the sources and help I needed to add their
  24. 32 channel mixing engines to XModule.  Please, be patient.

  27. Beta Version
  28. ============

  30.     This package contains a *BETA* release of XModule.
  31. Before running it, you should be warned about a few things:
  32.  
  33. - Many gadgets and menu items are still no-ops.
  34.  
  35. - The documentation is sometimes incorrect and some parts
  36.   have not been written yet.
  37.  
  38. - Please, do not spread modified versions of this beta.  When
  39.   XModule will be released in its fully working version, I'll
  40.   grant you permission to modify and spread it.
  41.  
  42. - Please do not base your opinion of XModule on this beta release.
  43.   The final version will be fully operative and bug free.
  44.  
  45. - Do not report obvious bugs: I know that the Sample editor is
  46.   not working.  If, instead, you see a little, hard to discover, bug
  47.   such as a small memory loss or strange errors converting a
  48.   particular module format, then do not hesitate reporting it
  49.   immediatly. Failure to do this will probably result in the bug
  50.   being still there in the next release of XModule.
