-
- A Quick Thankyou
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
- Three major features to enhance Notator-X have been suggested by
- various people who have either been beta-testing or reviewing the
- program. I would like to thank these people for all their input that
- has allowed me to make Notator-X even more powerful.

- Metric Measurments
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
- Notator-X was originally designed to specify its measurements in
- Centimetres. After speaking to various American reviewers and beta-
- testers, it was pointed out to me that in the U.S. Centimetres and
- Millimetres don't go down very well. So to accomondate them, N.X.
- now allows measurements to be entered in either Centimetres or
- Inches. This is specified by checking or un-checking the option
- "Metic Measurements" located in the "Misc.." menu. If ticked, then
- all measuremets are specified and displayed in Centimetres, else in
- Inches.
-
- To make Notator-X automatically check or un-check this option when
- first ran, a Tool Type is used in the Notator-X icon. Refer to the
- Notator-X manual about the program tool types.
-
-
- To check the option when the program is initailly ran, set:-
-
- METRIC=YES
-
- else set it as:-
-
- METRIC=NO
-
-
-
-
- Auto Event Cursor Move
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
- When an event is entered into the score, the Notator-X event cursor
- doesn't move on. This was done so that other notes could be entered
- into a chord before moving to the next location. However various
- people have said that it should work the other way around:
-
- After an event is entered, then cursor automatically moves on to
- the next available space.
-
- So to make everybody happy, either option can now be specified. A
- checkable option has been placed in the "Misc.." menu named "Auto
- Cursor Move". If checked, when an event is entered, the cursor auto-
- matically moves on right. You will have to go back to enter any
- other notes into a chord.
-
- As with the metric option, this can be set up default as required
- using a tool type.
-
- Either : AUTOCURSORMOVE=YES
- or : AUTOCURSORMOVE=NO
-
-
- This function is originally set as NO. This is because anybody who
- hasn't read this section before reading the user's manual, would get
- a touch confused when following the examples about entering notes.
- The cursor wouldn't be doing what's specified in the manual.
-
-
-
-
- Follow Event Cursor
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
- This again is a checkable option located in the "Misc.." menu. It is
- named "Follow Cursor" and when checked forces the Notator-X display
- window to follow the event cursor's movement. Thus, if it goes off
- part of the screen, or off the page. The display is automatically
- moved to the new part of the page, or the page is turned.
-
- This option is default set as checked. It's tool type is named:-
-
- FOLLOWEVENTCURSOR=YES
- FOLLOWEVENTCURSOR=NO
-
