  1. B&P_Pro 2.5 Update Installation
  2. -------------------------------
  3. Note: Floppy disk users must have a blank disk on hand that will
  4.    become the B&P_Pro_Tools disk. There wasn't room on the Tools
  5.    disk to include the .info files, so you won't see any Workbench
  6.    icons after the installation.
  7.  
  8.    The installation procedure can take several minutes.  The
  9.    floppy installation in particular requires quite some time.
  10.  
  11.    The Sunrize Tools are not installed on the floppy installation,
  12.    because there isn't enough room for them on the disk, and
  13.    you need a hard drive to use them anyway.

  15.    It is highly suggested that you run the installation on a clean
  16.    system after a warm or cold boot.

  18. 1. The first time you run the floppy or hard disk installation,
  19.    you must have your original installed Bars&Pipes Professional
  20.    2.0 program disk.  Make sure that the original 2.0 disk is
  21.    labelled Bars&Pipes Professional, and that you can run
  22.    Bars&Pipes Professional 2.0 from the disk by double-clicking
  23.    its icon.

  25.    If double-clicking its icon results in the message "You must
  26.    run the install program" then you must first install your
  27.    original Bars&Pipes Professional 2.0 disk before installing
  28.    B&P_Pro 2.5.

  30.    The hard drive installation only installs Bars&Pipes
  31.    Professional in the root directory.  This means
  32.    that if you wish to install it in a subdirectory (e.g.
  33.    "Work:Music/") you must install it first into "Work:" and
  34.    then drag the Bars&Pipes Professional drawer icon into the
  35.    Music drawer after the installation is complete.

  37.    Also, if your current Bars&Pipes Professional drawer is in
  38.    a subdirectory, you may wish to move it into the root before
  39.    installing, so that the newly installed version installs on
  40.    top of it.

  42. 2. After verifying that your original 2.0 disk is correctly
  43.    named "Bars&Pipes Professional" and that the Bars&Pipes
  44.    Professional program on it runs properly, run either the
  45.    Floppy Install or Hard Disk Install program on this disk.

  47.    The installation will ask you to insert your original 2.0
  48.    disk.  It will scan the disk and then ask you to reinsert the
  49.    2.5 update disk.

  51.    The installation will then copy the BlueRibbon.library file
  52.    into your Workbench LIBS: directory.  It is important that
  53.    your Workbench disk or hard drive partition have at least 14
  54.    kilobytes of free space for this file.  The MIDI Tools will
  55.    not load if this library is not installed!

  57. 3. The floppy installation will then install the first disk, and
  58.    create a third disk that will contain the Tools.

  60.    The hard disk installation installs the new files into the
  61.    Bars&Pipes Professional drawer on your hard drive.
