  16. This  disc  contains  the latest version of AMOSPro, V2.0.  AMOSPro has been
  17. through a major re-writing process which has modified its internal structure
  18. tremendously.  For example, you will see that the "AMOSPro" file is now only
  19. twenty Kilobytes long!
  20.  
  21. You  can find all the documentation about this new version by selecting the
  22. option  "Lastest  News"  from the Editor's "Help" menu of the newly updated
  23. AMOSPro.
  24.  
  25. If you're updating from AMOSPro V1.00, you have missed AMOSPro V1.12, so you
  26. will  also find in the help menu all the information about the modifications
  27. between AMOSPro V1.00 and V1.12.

  31.                 *** HOW TO UPDATE YOUR COPY OF AMOSPRO? ***
  32.  
  33. *   Make  sure you  switch off any  virus  checker or any resident utility
  34.     that might interfere with the disc system.
  35.  
  36. *   Simply   click   on   "AMOSPro_Update"  and  carefully  follow  all  the
  37.     instructions.
  38.  
  39. Floppy  disc  users, remember to update only a backup of your AMOSPro System
  40. disc!
  41.  
  42. If you have created any alternate configuration files (editor or interpreter)
  43. you  must update them before  calling the updated AMOSPro: use the option from 
  44. the updater's main menu and simply follow the prompts.

  48.                          *** NO MORE MOUSE.ABK ***
  49.  
  50. The  AMOS.library  now  holds the default mouse images.  It is therefore not
  51. necessary  to  have the "AMOSPro_Mouse.Abk" file within the APSystem folder.
  52. The  second entry of the system files in the AMOSPro_Interpreter_Config file
  53. has also been erased.
  54.  
  55. Iff  you  want  to, you can have your own default mouse.  Simply create your
  56. mouse  bank  from  your  old  AMOSPro_Mouse.Abk  and  save it back into your
  57. APSystem  folder.  Then choose the Interpreter Config option from the editor
  58. menu  and  enter  the  name  of the mouse bank into location number 2 of the
  59. system  files:   your bank will be automatically loaded and will replace the
  60. default mouse bank.

  64.                        *** NO MORE DEFAULT FONT ***
  65.  
  66. The  AMOS.library  now  computes  the  default window font from an 8x8 Amiga
  67. font.   The  file "AMOSPro_Default.font" is no longer necessary, and will be
  68. removed from your APSystem folder if you do the update on a floppy.
  69.  
  70. This new system ensures that the same font is used all over AMOSPro, in
  71. the menus and in the windows.
  72.  
  73. The name of the font to use is stated in string number 3 of the
  74. AMOSPro_Interpreter_Config.
  75.  
  76. So  the  default  font  will  be erased by the updater and AMOS.library will
  77. compute  the  default  font  from  "Topaz  8".  You can choose a new font by
  78. entering  its  name  at location 3 in the Interpreter configuration program.
  79. For example:

  82.     Topaz.Font

  84. The font must be available when AMOSPro boots. If it is not then AMOSPro
  85. will open Topaz.

  88.                      *** ABOUT CONFIGURATION FILES ***
  89.  
  90. A few problems in V1.0 of  the  editor  makes it impossible to modify both
  91. editor and interpreter configuration  files  without  losing  some of your
  92. setups.
  93.  
  94. Interpreter configuration: the  updater  has  kept  all  your system setup
  95. (close workbench, close editor etc.) and has reset to default all the rest
  96. (extension list, system files list etc.)
  97.  
  98. Editor configuration. The updater has kept:
  99. - All the messages (editor dialogs, test-time, run-time etc.)
  100. - The main editor configuration (screen size, opening speed etc.)
  101.  
  102. The updater was forced to reset to default:
  103. - The keyboard shortcuts.
  104. - The user menu and program to menu assignments.
  105.  
  106. The updater has erased the file "Editor_LastSession".
  107.  
  108. We do apologise if you have lost some data like the keyboard shortcuts. It
  109. is just unavoidable.
  110.  
  111. The configuration file for AMOSPro V1.0  will not work under AMOSPro V1.1,
  112. because we have added data to  it  (like the default screen configuration,
  113. Amiga-A etc.)
  114.  
  115. If you have alternate  configuration  files  (Editor  or Interpreter), you
  116. need to convert them to the new  format, using the option in the updater's
  117. first page.
  118.  
  119. How to proceed:
  120.  
  121. - Select the option.
  122. - Choose either Interpreter or Editor configuration.
  123. - Choose the file to convert from the file selector.
  124. - The updater will convert  the  file,  keeping  the settings we've stated
  125.   above and will save it back to disc.
  126. - Repeat the same procedure for every alternate configuration file.
