  1. The files contained in this drawer are not required for ParBENCH
  2. or ParNET to function. They are placed here for the "power user"
  3. who might find them interesting. The files included are:

  5. 1. ATN.LHA ---   Amiga Turbo Network. This archive contains the shareware
  6.                  competitor for ParNET. It allows up to 8 Amigas to be
  7.                  connected VIA their parallel ports with a special daisy
  8.                  chain style cable scheme. This version is a demo that
  9.                  only allows transfers of 50k or less. Oh yes, the docs
  10.                  are in german. Anyone have the time to translate them
  11.                  and send them to me in english? :) I would like to hear
  12.                  how this program worked for you as I never had the time
  13.                  build the cable.

  15. 2. ParPC.LHA  -  This file was downloaded from the Deep Thought BBS (former
  16.                  home of what was known as The Software Distillery and
  17.                  is now the home of Home Brew Software). It is a set of
  18.                  software for PC Compatibles and Amigas that allow the
  19.                  standard Amiga ParNET to interchange data with
  20.                  PC-Compatibles VIA a standard Amiga Parnet cable.
  21.                  included is a schematic for building the interface for
  22.                  the PC Compatible. This is a pretty major hardware job
  23.                  and so far I know of no one who has built one for
  24.                  testing. If you do, please drop me a line and let me
  25.                  know how it worked for you. Also, this file is VERY
  26.                  sparse in the documentation, but does include source code.
  27.                  I was unable to find any information as to the
  28.                  distributability of this file except in as much as it was
  29.                  available on a public doamin BBS and was bundled with
  30.                  ParNET which is freely distributable. If you know anything
  31.                  more about the heritage of this file please contact me.

  33. 3. SerNET24.LHA- This is a serial version of ParNET that is supposed to
  34.                  operate over Matt Dillons DNET software. I have been 
  35.                  unable make this work and would encourage someone who has
  36.                  this working to inform me as to just how the heck you
  37.                  got it to work! :) If I can find a way to make this
  38.                  work I will include it in an upcoming version of ParBENCH
  39.                  as an option. Any help would be appreciated.

  41. 4. NetMOUNT.LHA- This is a file culled from the Fred Fish colleciton it 
  42.                  seems to be a sort of Boot.Host replacement in that it 
  43.                  allows the activation of ParNET and the 'touching' of the
  44.                  drives to occur automaticly. As I have not had a chance 
  45.                  to play with it, I include it here for experimentation.
