  16. This archive contains the freely distributable version of MachV V5.0.
  17. It may be distributed as long as all files are maintained intact and
  18. only a nominal fee (no more than $5.00) is charged for media and postage.
  19.  
  20. There are only small differences between this and the registered version.
  21.  
  22. The registered version...
  23.  
  24.     ...does NOT have the "startup" window.
  25.  
  26.     ...allows unlimited macros.
  27.  
  28.     ...is about 2k smaller.
  29.  
  30.     ...is probably at least one release ahead of the un-registered version.
  31.  
  32.     ...also includes versions of MachV and SetMachV compiled for 68020+.

  34.     ...includes documentation in French or German.

  43.      since 1987, perhaps longer than any other shareware program for the

  51. The price is the same for foreign orders. Canadian users may send $15.00
  52. in US dollars or a Canadian check (plus exchange rate adjustment currently

  55. Foreign users may send a $15.00 check drawn on a US bank or $15.00 cash
  56. in a (preferably) registered letter. Please...No EuroCheques. There is
  57. a $15 dollar fee to process these.

  122. The file MachV.guide is a normal text file with some special keywords
  123. added for AmigaGuide. You may use a text editor or word processor if
  124. desired. The registered version includes an ARexx program that will
  125. strip the file of AmigaGuide keywords.

  128. 3. Quick Start
  129.  
  130.   For a quick way of trying MachV, simply cd into the MachV
  131.   directory, and type "Run MachV" (or double click on its icon).
  132.   MachV will read in the file MachV.prefs.
  133.  
  134.   Activate the clock window and press the right button or use the key
  135.   combination Ctrl-LeftAmiga-ESC or double click on its icon to run
  136.   SetMachV. (Do this after the startup window is gone.)
  137.  
  138.   The Install script may be used to copy the files to your system.
  139.

  141. 4. Quick Installation from the shell
  142.  
  143.   1. Make the directory ENVARC:MachV
  144.        makedir ENVARC:MachV
  145.  
  146.   2. Copy the MachV.prefs file to ENVARC:MachV
  147.        copy MachV/MachV.prefs ENVARC:MachV
  148.  
  149.   3. Copy the contents of the Gadgets directory to ENVARC:MachV
  150.        copy gadgets/#? ENVARC:MachV
  151.  
  152.   4. Copy MachV and SetMachV to a directory in your path. If you are
  153.      not sure what that means, copy MachV and SetMachV to your c:
  154.      directory.

  158.   5. Run MachV.
  159.        run >nil: MachV

  161. Do NOT Put SetMachV In Your WBStartup Drawer!

  164. 5. Quick Installation from Workbench
  165.  
  166.   1. Open your Prefs drawer.
  167.  
  168.   2. Select "Window/Show  » All Files" from the Workbench menu.
  169.      The drawer Env-Archive should now have an icon. Open this drawer
  170.      and select "Window/New Drawer" from the Workbench window. Name
  171.      this drawer MachV.
  172.  
  173.   3. Drag the file MachV.prefs into the new drawer.
  174.  
  175.   4. Drag the file Sample.prefs into the new drawer.
  176.  
  177.   5. Open the Gadgets drawer and select all icons. Drag these to the
  178.      new drawer.
  179.  
  180.   6. Drag SetMachV to your sys:Tools or sys:Utilities drawer.

  182.   7. Drag MachV into your WBStartup directory and double click on it.
  183.      Do not put SetMachV in this directory!

  190.   Run MachV a second time to remove it. Or activate the clock and press
  191.   Ctrl-C. Or, use the "break" command.  Or, execute a MSC_QUIT macro
  192.   function. Or, use "address 'MachV' 'MSC_QUIT'" from an ARexx program.

  195. 7. Locale note:
  196.  
  197.   MachV has catalog files for deutsch, francais, and dansk. Copy the
  198. catalogs for your language from the locale/catalogs/your_language/machv
  199. directory to locale:catalogs/your_language/machv. You must create this
  200. directory first, or use:

  202. c:copy locale/catalogs/your_language/machv locale:catalogs/your_language/machv all
