- Sculpt Animate 4D Release Notes, 24-Oct-88
-
-
- Well, there's always something, isn't there? This file contains
- absolute last-minute information regarding this version of Sculpt
- Animate 4D.
-
-
- Backgrounds with Mirror and Glass
-
- Chapter 12, page 12-7 of the Revision 1 manual states that background
- imagery used in an animation cannot be either reflected or transmitted
- by mirrored or glass textures. This is true enough, but you have some
- control over what will be reflected or transmitted.
-
- As the manual state's, a take's background image is enabled by setting
- the WORLD SKY requester's Color gadget to NONE. This is still the
- case, but before setting this gadget, you may set the SOLID color as
- you like, and Sculpt Animate will remember this color.
-
- Whenever a mirrored or glass object is rendered in front of a 'no-sky'
- background, the object will reflect or transmit whatever color the sky
- WOULD be, if it were set to SOLID.
-
- Use this feature by setting the SOLID sky color to your background
- image's predominant color, then switching the sky to NONE. Mirrored
- and glass objects should look somewhat more convincing than if they
- simply reflected or transmitted blackness.

-
- More Script Errata
-
- The KNOT script commands are incorrectly documented on page 14-16 of
- the manual. The KNOT commands demand that the cursor be indicating a
- knot, otherwise an error message will be produced. Here are the
- correct usages for the knot commands:
-
-
- KNOt INWard
- If the knot is a cusp, subsequent speeds or specified slopes will
- apply to the inward side of the cusp.
-
-
- KNOt OUTward
- If the knot is a cusp, subsequent speeds or specified slopes will
- apply to the outward side of the cusp.
-
-
- KNOt CALculated
- The slope (or slopes, for a cusp) will be calculated by the program.
-
-
- KNOt SPECified <direction>
- The direction is used for the knot's slope.
-
-
- KNOt REGular
- The knot is turned into a non-cusp (continuous) knot.
-
-
- KNOt SPEEd <number>
- The number specifies the speed for the indicated knot.

- Trademarks
-
- In case any of them have been missed elsewhere in this package, the
- following trademarks apply: "Amiga" is a registered trademark (R) of
- Commodore-Amiga, Inc. "AmigaDOS", "Kickstart", "Intuition", and
- "Workbench" are all trademarks (TM) of Commodore-Amiga, Inc.
