- ProjectD: CatalogTool - Additional Documentation
-
- Good News: We completed the Progressive Sorting routines!
- Bad News: We didn't finish them in time to get the documentation into
- the manual.
-
- Maintenance Mode: More On Sorting
-
- The Sort Requester allows you to sort the file entries from low to
- high on any of the fields, it also supports progressive sorting. There
- are six (6) toggle gadgets (one for each field). When you first select
- the sort function, all fields are available for sorting. Select a field
- to sort then select the SORT gadget, the mouse pointer will change to the
- electric D busy symbol until the sort is finished. The sort requester will
- then reappear, allowing you to sort again (this time the toggle gadget for
- the first field you sorted has been disabled). Subsequent sorts are done
- keeping the previous sorts intact (progrssively). Therefore you can sort
- a catalog by Disk ID's then sort the catalog by Pathnames and then by
- Filenames to have a catalog file with the disk id's grouped together and
- each of the filenames sorted alphabetically within their directories.
