  1. The AMAX patch loader is a RATHER involved process, so read this
  2. doc file thru before attempting to install eveything.
  3.  
  4. You must FIRST copy the file "ROM_Utility" from this disk to AMAX 
  5. format using the file transfer software that is provided with AMAX.
  6. MAKE SURE that you set the file type to be MAC BINARY!!!
  7.  
  8. Once you have transfered the "ROM_Utility" file to some disk, make a
  9. COPY of your system disk (hard drive users need not do this).  Copy 
  10. the "ROM_Utility" (already on an AMAX formatted disk) into your
  11. SYSTEM FOLDER.
  12.  
  13. Ok...now, format a blank disk in AMAX format.
  14.  
  15. Go to pull down menu (in AMAX) and select RE-START.
  16.  
  17. Ok, now, go to the CONTROL PANEL and set all of these the way you would 
  18. ALWAYS like them to come up for you.  Now, you will notice a new CONTROL
  19. PANEL utility....ROM UTILITY.  Click on this utility and you will see
  20. lots of info about AMAX.  You may change any of the options as you like.
  21. When you are finished, click on SAVE IMAGE.  When it asks you for a
  22. name for the file to be saved, type (erase previous name if necessary):
  23. ROM_Image, and press RETURN.  There should now be disk access and the 
  24. file is saved to the blank formatted disk that you made earlier.

  26. OK...now, using once again the File Transfer software provided with AMAX,
  27. transfer the file "ROM_Image" that you created to the any AMIGA disk.  DO
  28. NOT HAVE ANY file conversion turned on (dont use MAC BINARY this time).

  30. Now, you can quit AMAX.

  32. Ok, copy the ROM_Image file that you transfered to some Amiga disk into
  33. the SAME directory or path that the SYBIL disk is located at.  That means
  34. that you should probably make a copy of the SYBIL disk and copy the
  35. ROM_Image file to the copy of the disk.  Hard drive owners can just 
  36. place the ROM_Image file into the same directory as the SYBIL software.

  38. That is it for the install...

  40. By running the LOADER (Amax Patch) program, you are loading the ROM_Image
  41. into memory and that is how our patch works.  With this method, we do not
  42. have to worry about patching software updates from ReadySoft, since the
  43. ROM_Utility is a real MAC program.
