  11. Executive is a UNIX-like task scheduler for Amiga. It also has
  12. plenty of other features previously available only in larger
  13. operating systems.

  15. Executive improves the responsiveness of your Amiga. No longer
  16. running a CPU intensive program causes the whole machine to slow
  17. down. You can start many CPU intensive programs and the machine
  18. still feels as fast as before.

  20. Executive also includes many useful client programs which let you
  21. control tasks and monitor what's going on in your system.

  23. The core of Executive is a scheduler that recalculates task
  24. priorities based on system load average and task's recent CPU usage.
  25. The scheduler will give high priority to interactive tasks and low
  26. priority to CPU intensive tasks.

  28. Executive is similar to Job Manager or Spy System, but it has more
  29. features than these two together, for example:

  31. - highly accurate (1/1000 seconds) CPU usage timing
  32. - 6 different scheduling algorithms

  40. Executive consists of a server and clients. The server is run
  41. in the background and it takes care of scheduling, CPU usage
  42. calculations and many other things. The client programs are:

  62. Executive doesn't use any illegal programming, it is fully compatible
  63. with all Amiga computers running AmigaDos release 2.04 or newer.

  65. Executive has been carefully designed to work with all kinds of
  66. configurations and care has been taken not to break any programming
  67. rules.
