  20.     This is the 3rd MagicWB (© Martin Huttenloher) package from me, Jan-
  21.     Tore Eliassen. The icons has been worked on and off for the last 5-6
  22.     months. I've have stolen lot of ideas from most of the MagicWB
  23.     packages out there (huh-huh, cool!). Hope you don't mind! I'm not
  24.     that good with mixing colors and creating something from scratch you
  25.     know! :-(

  36.     This package contains some 190 MagicWB icons, drawers and dock-
  37.     brushes. Sorry, but because of the amount of icons, no detailed
  38.     description of the icons are available.

  40.     Many of the icons in this package are old icons from the
  41.     first 2 releases, JTEMWB1.LhA & JTEMWB2.LhA, which I've updated to
  42.     MagicWB v2.0 templates and colors.
  43.  
  44.     There are also a lot of new icons, some ImageDrawers for locale files
  45.     and a few ToolManager (© Stefan Becker) dock-brushes.

  47.     A couple of the icons don't use the standard templates, but what the
  48.     heck!! The ImageDrawers used are from various packages and the
  49.     MagicWB v2.0 package.

  60.     Click on 'ClickForColors' for the NEW MagicWB v2.0 palette.

  62.     Use a icon update program, MUI_IconUpdate or IconUpdate, which
  63.     preserves the tooltypes and position of the icon, to update your old
  64.     icons.

  73.     All the icons in this package are in 8 colors, 3 bitplanes.
  74.  
  75.     MagicWB v2.0 have a demon that controls the icons (and patterns) so
  76.     that they have the correct colors. So if you use more than 8 colors
  77.     on your WB, the icon colors will not be fucked up! This makes
  78.     MagicWB v2.0 nearly as fast as the standard 4 color icons.
  79.  
  80.     For you not using the MagicWB 2 demon and use more than 8 colors, can
  81.     fix the ugly looking icons by using the icon utility IconDepth v1.4
  82.     (© Bjørnar Henden). But this will make the icons bigger (KB wise!)
  83.     and the Workbench much slower. So register NOW!

  85.     MagicWB look best for screens sized 640x512 and above. Don't use it
  86.     with 640x256 screens, it's FUCKING ugly!

  88.     Icons are meant to replace the text in a GUI-Graphic User Interface,
  89.     so avoid using large fonts on the WB. XHelvetica 9 or 11 are big
  90.     enough for the WB.

  99.     To Amiga Magazines:
  100.     Why can't you use 640x512+ screens with high quality fonts and WB2
  101.     colors when you have screenshots of serious applications. And stop
  102.     using those fucking ugly palettes.
  103.  
  104.     Many of my PC user friends gets/has the impression that the Amiga
  105.     only uses low-Res screens, so that it just looks like a games
  106.     machine after all, and can't be taken seriously. And that really
  107.     pisses me off. Windows may look good, but it's crap. Workbench looks
  108.     crap (without MagicWB), but it's the best OS out there!
  109.  
  110.     Take Amiga Computing: They use a mix between WB1.3 and WB2+ colors on
  111.     90% of their screenshots. WHY? It's suppose to be a magazine for
  112.     serious Amiga users, why not act like one? This also goes for you
  113.     other, English, Amiga magazines.

  115.     And why take consideration to WB1.3 users when developing serious
  116.     applications/PD-/Shareware utilities etc.? WB2, and now WB3.x, has
  117.     been a standard for 3-4 years now. WB1.3 users only use their Amigas
  118.     for games anyway. Fuck'em!

  120.     And now a couple of questions to Martin Huttenloher; What are you
  121.     gonna do with new icon that pops up when MS-DOS disks are inserted?
  122.     NewIcons has a hack for it! Has CBM fixed the Preset-icon bug in
  123.     WB3.1? How are the upgrade system working? How do the registered
  124.     users get notified of new versions? And when can we expect a new
  125.     MagicWB release?

  158.     I've learned all the swear words from movies, so blame them! My
  159.     younger brother can also swear in English, but because of
  160.     censorship (fuck censorship!) he only says; *beep* you! or Go *beep*
  161.     a duck you mother*beep*er! So everytime he's angry at me, he goes
  162.     around beeping (you know, like a roundrunner!). BEEP-BEEP!

  164.     Think I drifted into a different area there! Now to something
  165.     serious.

  167.     Some PD-libraries rip people off by making their own disks
  168.     which includes a little utility/program that takes up 20% of the
  169.     disk and take £2 bloody pounds for it. Others make these theme
  170.     utility disks and take £5 pounds for 2 disks. Come on! PD is meant
  171.     to be free, you can only charge for the disk, copying charges and
  172.     postage. Maybe by cutting down on your advertisements expenses you
  173.     could cut the prize on the PD disks. You have these fancy
  174.     advertisements in every Amiga magazine every bleeding month with
  175.     every page costing hundreds of pounds. How can you afford it? When
  176.     you're selling programs that supposed to be none profitable?
  177.     Take one PD-library in Swindon, England, £4 for a degrader disk, £5
  178.     for MagicWB extras, £5 for a disk doubler, £6 for the Klondike AGA
  179.     cardgame... Need I say more? Rip off? I say YES! >-(

  182.     You aren't allowed to take more than £1,- (English pound) including
  183.     disk and copying cost, and you must include some other MagicWB icons/
  184.     patterns to fill up the disk by at least 90%.
