- * *
- * Version: 1.32 *
- * Last Update: 04/18/95 *
- *********************************************************************
-
- Thank you for purchasing Hollywood FX.
- This file describes all changes that have been made to
- Hollywood FX. This file also describes any important changes
- since the manual was published.
-
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------
- Version 1.32 04/18/95
-
- CHANGES:
-
- * With version 1.3 of Hollywood FX we modified the method we use
- for rendering effects to accomodate pre and post processing in
- a better manner. However, this caused slower speeds for rendering
- normal frames and for PAR users. In addition, on some systems
- with PAR there were problems even saving animations. Also A4000
- animations no longer worked. To alleviate this problem we did the
- following:
- * If you do not use pre or post processing, and are not rendering
- an A4000 animation, Hollywood FX will use the original method
- of rendering (letting LightWave render the entire effect before
- returning).
- * If you use pre or post processing, are not rendering an A4000
- anim, or are using the Flyer or Digital Broadcaster, HollywoodFX
- will use the new method of rendering in which it controls the
- rendering of each frame of the effect.
-
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------
- Version 1.31 04/01/95
-
- NOTES:
-
- * For Flyer/PAR/Digital Broadcaster users. You should only use
- clips that do not have a name that ends in a number. For example
- "Myclip" is ok, but "MyClip1" will not work properly.
-
- * We have found problems with the software working with Amiga
- OS 3.1 (It works fine under older 3.1 betas from Commodore). We
- have learned that even Newtek will not support 3.1 systems, so
- we would recommend to users having problems with 3.1 to return
- to 3.0 or 2.1.
-
- * Flyer Users. The scripts we have developed to work around the
- current inability of Lightwave to import and export from Flyer
- clips has been tested thoroughly on a few different systems,
- however, we have found with initial users that some systems
- are having problems. Here are a few recommendations to make
- sure your Flyer import/export works properly.
- - If you have 16 or 18 megabytes of memory only, you should
- do the following to free up memory. Quit any programs that
- are not needed. Change workbench down to 2 or 4 colors and
- a lower resolution. If you are running Toaster 4000, change
- the resolution for LightWave to lowest possible.
- - Make sure to use clip names on the Flyer that do not have
- spaces, and do not end in numbers.
- - Change the Segment Memory option down to 1000000 or lower.
-
- * You should only use the "Work In RAM" option if you have
- plenty of available memory. Flyer users should only use this
- option if they have 24 to 32 megabytes of RAM.
-
- Bug Fixes
-
- * Fixed problem with PAR scripts and internal commands that were
- not handling filenames with spaces in them.
-
- * Adjusted delays in Flyer scripts to account for differences among
- systems.
-
- * Minor fixes/adjustments to the following effects:
- Slats_Twirl
- Boxing_Helena
- Closing_Box
- Cone_Burster
- Digital_Dissolve
- Donut_Burst
- Saturday_Movie
- Scissoria
-
- Changes
-
- * Because so many Flyer users had problems, Hollywood FX will now
- allow Flyer users to use drive names such as "FlyerA0:" in
- addition to "FA0:" style drive names.
-
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------
- Version 1.30 03/18/95
-
- IMPORTANT NOTE:
- * The manual describes the use of the ClipImage.adpro ARexx script
- incorrectly. To use the ClipImage.adpro script, you should
- use the Clip Visual operator manually to determine the WIDTH,
- HEIGHT, OFFSETX, and OFFSETY values. After determining these
- values, you must edit the ClipImage.adpro script, and modify
- the WIDTH, HEIGHT, OFFX, and OFFY User values to match. The
- script is then ready for use.
-
- Bug Fixes
-
- * Fixed numerous small bugs and minor user interface features.
-
- New Features and Changes
-
- * All new features and changes are described in the new
- User Guide.

- supposed to be replacing.

- total frames changes.
-
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------
- Version 1.27 09/21/94
-
- * HFX would not work properly with Lightwave 3.5 Unbundled. Was

-
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------
- Version 1.26 09/02/94
-
- Bug Fixes
-

- Fixed.
-
- * Crashed during abort using Lightwave 3.5. Fixed.
-

- is useful for Lightwave users with a lot of extra memory.

-
- * Added "Render To DV1" Checkbox to "Options" window. This checkbox
- will save time during rendering by not displaying the rendered
- frame in the Toasters framebuffer.
-
- * Now supports PAL modes for Pixel Aspect on "Output" window. This
- is only supported using Lightwave version 3.5 or higher.
-
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------
- Version 1.25 07/20/94
-

- using any of the file selection buttons. The pathname used was
- the "last-used" path, rather than the path of the selected file.
- Fixed.
-
- Changes
-
- * Added Notification requesters when invalid values are entered on
- the "Render" window, and leaves the values at the previous values
- rather than setting them to "good default" values.
-
- New Features
-
- * When the "Total Frames" value is changed, the "First Frame",
- "Last Frame", "Starting Hold", and "Ending Hold" values are
- automatically scaled based on the changes to "Total Frames".
-
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------
- Version 1.24 07/14/94
-
- Bug Fixes
-
- * A problem with cleanup after rendering was fixed.
-
- * The "Total Frames" field should have allowed values from 5 to 9999,

-
- * Added Adaptive Sampling and Threshold Gadgets to Options Window.

- cannot be used with Version 1.23. We apologize for the
- inconvenience.
-
-
- Changes
-
- * When rendering A4000 Anims, the Ambient light is changed to
- 35% to get brighter results.
-
- * Now frees effect list while rendering.
-
- * No longer requires LightWave to be loaded when HollywoodFX
- is loaded. Instead, provides error requester when you try to
- render an effect without LightWave.
-
- * Now only communicates with PAR if user has actually selected
- output to a PAR drive. As with LightWave, PAR only needs to
- be loaded when it is actually used by Hollywood FX.
-
- Bug Fixes
-
- * Selecting Information about the Hollywood FX icon caused an
- Enforcer Hit. Fixed.
