  2.                     Welcome to XiPaint on Aminet CD 11

  4. Xi-Paint is a versatile 24-bit paint program for the Amiga. Please note 
  5. that this copy of XiPaint is licensed to you, the buyer of this CD, 
  6. and no one else. The program is not restricted in any way, however it
  7. misses some sample images and printable manuals that are found on the
  8. original CD. That CD, as well as printed manuals and software updates 
  9. can be ordered from the addresses found at the bottom of this Readme.
  10. Also, have a look at the demo pictures for the new version Xi Paint 4.

  12. IMPORTANT: To load pictures in formats other than deep-IFF, you need to
  13. select the 'Settings' menu item in the 'Menus' menu. In the requester you
  14. hit the gadget with '>' in it, and next the 'Load' tab you get to see.
  15. There you can see an entry for Multipic_Loader which you select. Then you
  16. can load most important formats. Note about the JPEG saver: It uses (in
  17. this version) smoothing, which results in reduced image quality. I 
  18. suggest you use other save formats.

  42. Thank you for using this product. XiPaint 3.2 gives you many
  43. new features - and we still develop this product. For the reason
  44. to have to the right tool also the right surroundings, I thought,
  45. the best way is to make a CD which have all things you need to
  46. paint.

  48. It is not the program alone, that satisfies - it's also the handling,
  49. the support the tools and the demonstration. Therefore, this CD
  50. gives you many import and export-modules, pictures, materials and
  51. and and.

  53. For a nice price it was necessary to have the manual on CD.

  55. Manual
  56. ======

  58. For this reason, I made AmigaGuide-Manuals, ASCII, and printable
  59. files to put out to your printer (in Deskjet, Laserjet and
  60. Postscript-Format). Only copy the desired files to your printer
  61. or click on the icon.

  63. The manual is made for version 3.0 - but its still the actual
  64. one. The new features are explained seperately.
  65.  
  66. If you want to have a printed manual, you can get it at MacroSystem
  67. or NoahJi's.
  68.  
  69. If you have troubles with the Laserjet-manual (the pages are printed
  70. only a half), so please stop printing and print before the manual
  71. a graphical page with an other programm (PC, or Amiga). I couldn't
  72. reproduce this - so I hope, this will help ...

  74. The nice multipic.library is copyright by MacroSystem (Thanks) and
  75. I need it for loading and saving. Its not freeware - but every
  76. XiPaint user may use it. From Mr. Hoffmann I got a demo of his
  77. fast external loaders. If you want to work with the full-version,
  78. please register you! More details are in the Shareware-folder.

  80. An other nice thing is Graffity. It's a Workbench emulation for
  81. the Omnibus, Merlin, Domino, Graffity and Picasso. So XiPaint is
  82. also available for this graphic-adapters.

  84. If you want to use the WACOM-tablett, you need the driver from
  85. Roland Schwingel, which is also in the Shareware-directory.

  106. Problems
  107. ========

  109. If you have problems with starting XiPaint, so please use the little
  110. programm xpinit on the CD. Start it from the xipaint-drawer, where
  111. the main-programm is found. It tells you something about your
  112. libraries and versions and where there are.
  113.  
  114. If you have no idea, why XiPaint can't find libraries, please copy
  115. all xipaint/libs/#? - libraries to libs:
  116.  
  117. If you have a VLAB and no VLAB-Menu will open, so please start xipaint
  118. from a shell with the option 7. This bug will be fixed in the next version.

  120. Have you problems with loading your pictures? Maybe your loading-module
  121. is Internal-DEEP. Change this in the System-Folder under loader to the
  122. multipic-module (also for Saver).

  190. you are able to make Screenshots in the actual directory. These
  191. are made in DEEP-format, which you can transform with xipaint.
  192. Screenshots are possible with the PrtSc-Key.

  197. You want to change the help-texts? Start XiPaint in a Shell with the
  198. option 7 and press the Help-Key. The filename of the text-file is
