  11. If you are using a harddrive the best thing to do is drag the whole BPaint
  12. draw onto your "WORK" partition, it will then run by double-clicking it's
  13. icon and print using your harddrive prefs. Not everyone owns a harddrive so
  14. the disk is also autobooting, slip it into your internal drive DF0: and turn
  15. on the power, after a short while you'll be looking at a black screen with
  16. a load of buttons at the bottom, most of these buttons are straight forward:

  19.                LOAD    - Opens a requester to select and load a picture.
  20.                SAVE    - Opens a requester to select and save a picture.
  21.                DELETE  - Opens a requester to select and delete a picture.
  22.                PALETTE - Allows you to adjust the colour palette, click the
  23.                          button and the standard palette slider will appear,
  24.                          select a colour from the palette bar running along
  25.                          the centre of the screen and move the sliders.
  26.                PRINT   - Prints the current screen.
  27.                FONTS   - Opens a requester to select the font to be used,
  28.                          "Bitmap" or "iff" and then choose a font.
  29.                SPARE   - Opens and flips to a spare screen.
  30.                SHOW    - Displays the whole screen.
  31.                FLIP-H  - Flips the whole screen horizontally.
  32.                FLIP-V  - Flips the whole screen vertically.
  33.                QUIT    - ????
  34.                FORMAT  - Selects the screen mode.
  35.                ABOUT   - Displays version number.
  36.                TOOLS   - Moves to the tools menu buttons.

  39. You can move from the "TOOLS" menu to the "PICTURE" menu at any time, the
  40. menu currently selected is shown in the top left-hand corner. The "TOOLS" menu
  41. is a little more complicated, but again is setout like most paint programs.
  42. The colour palette is shown at the top and the selected colour is highlighted
  43. by a small box. Below the palette are the built-in brushes and paint modes.
  44. I'll just mention one or two of the special features:

  47.                PATTERN - Selects one of the built-in patterns for filling
  48.                          objects. To test, select the button and then a
  49.                          pattern from the display and press USE. If you now
  50.                          select SOLID and CIRCLE, the circle will auto-fill
  51.                          with the pattern.
  52.  
  53.                CLEAR   - This button clears the current screen, to use it
  54.                          select CLEAR and a requester will appear to check
  55.                          if you want to proceed, click YES and the mouse
  56.                          pointer will move to the palette bar. Click on any
  57.                          colour and the screen will clear to that colour.

  60. DRAWING

  63. Use the left mouse button (LMB) to select tools and to move from menu to menu.
  64. When a tool is selected move to the drawing area, start drawing and the menu
  65. will disappear leaving only the palette bar, use the LMB to change colours.
  66. To return to the menu simply press the Right Mouse Button (RMB).

  69. VIDEO PRESENTER WIPES

  72. When you create a picture and wish to use it in a sequence to produce a video
  73. intro, it must be saved under a special name, which allows the program to load
  74. it when required eg:

  83. In the above example the image will "Wipe IN" with 08 and "Wipe OUT" with 09,
  84. below is a list of all the video wipe codes.

  88.                        00 = Clear screen (OUT)
  89.                        01 = Centre to 4 corners
  90.                        02 = 4 corners to centre
  91.                        03 = Left to right
  92.                        04 = Right to left

  94.                        06 = Bottom to top
  95.                        07 = Left & right to centre
  96.                        08 = Left to right & right to left
